Chamomile, which is familiar to all of us and even very beloved, is the bearer of a unique ability to treat a number of skin diseases, only with the help of the natural elements present in it. And many people don’t even know whether it’s possible to wipe their face with chamomile and whether it has any benefits for them.

A decoction of this flower, which many have known since early childhood, is capable of conveying all its naturalness and tenderness to the skin of our face. A properly prepared chamomile infusion for the face will bring calm, rejuvenation, relieve inflammation and whiten the necessary areas of the skin, as well as muffle allergies and moisturize. The main secret of such a wide range of effects undoubtedly lies in the components of the infusion.

Composition and beneficial properties

Plant composition:

  1. Vitamin A (carotene). Makes skin elastic and silky.
  2. Sesquiterpene hydrocarbons. Protect the epidermis from harmful environmental influences.
  3. Flavonoids. UV protection.

Contraindications

The use of the plant is prohibited in the following cases:

  • individual intolerance to the components included in the composition;
  • rosacea of ​​the face (do not use ice);
  • extensive inflammation of the face;
  • dermatological diseases;
  • recent facial surgery and aggressive cosmetic procedures;
  • asthma, high fever, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases (baths are contraindicated).

To prevent undesirable consequences, it is recommended to conduct a sensitivity test before the first use of the product. The composition is applied to a small area of ​​skin (elbow) for 150-20 minutes. In the absence of negative symptoms, the product can be used.

Methods of application

The plant can be purchased at a pharmacy or prepared independently. Flowers should be washed and dried. They are used both fresh and dry. In the pharmacy it is presented in the form of a powder or herbal mixture, which are available without a prescription. To prepare the products, you need to know the correct technology and possible contraindications.

Washing

A decoction or infusion helps relieve inflammation and improve complexion. To achieve the desired result, it is recommended to repeat the procedure daily, 2 times a day. In the morning the product should be cool, in the evening – warm. After washing, it is not recommended to dry the skin. Just blot it with a napkin.

To prepare the cleansing gel you will need the following ingredients:

  • dry pharmaceutical chamomile - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • calendula - 2 tbsp. l.;
  • parsley - 4 branches;
  • fresh honey - 1 tsp;
  • milk - 200 ml.

Cooking technology:

  1. Finely chop the parsley and grind with dry herbs.
  2. Bring milk to a boil.
  3. Add the herb mixture and simmer over low heat for half an hour.
  4. Let the milk steep (2-3 hours).
  5. Strain, add honey and mix thoroughly.

Shelf life is 4 days (refrigerated).

Decoction

There are several recipes:

  1. Hot method. Pour the raw material (1 tablespoon) with water (250 ml) and place in a water bath. After 15 minutes, remove from heat and let it brew. Squeeze out the broth and strain. Bring boiled water to the required volume (1 cup).
  2. Cold way. Pour the raw materials (1 tbsp) with cold water (1 glass). Bring to a boil, keep on low heat for 3 minutes. Let it brew, strain and bring to a volume of 1 glass. In this case, the decoction is more concentrated.
  3. Pour boiling milk (½ l) over flowers (1 glass). Close the container with a lid and leave to steep for several hours. Strain the mixture and put it in the refrigerator. This decoction is suitable for regularly wiping the face. It is most beneficial for dry skin.

For those with oily skin, it is recommended to increase the infusion time to 2 days. During this time, the milk will sour, making the composition more nutritious. Chamomile decoction is used for lotions, lotions and compresses.

Infusion

Cooking technology:

  1. Pour boiling water (1 cup) over flowers (50 g).
  2. Cover the container with a lid and let it brew for an hour.
  3. The resulting infusion should be strained before use.
  4. Moisten a cotton swab and run along all massage lines of the face, removing as much dirt as possible.

Ingredients:

  • dried chamomile flowers - 15 g;
  • water - 45 ml;
  • bergamot essential oil.

Cooking technology:

  1. Combine the herb with water and place on low heat for half an hour.
  2. Strain and add oil without waiting for the mixture to cool.
  3. Place a thin towel in a hot broth (+50...+60°C) and place it on your face for 10 minutes.

After completing the procedure, you can apply a nourishing cream or mask to your steamed face. This compress is suitable for problem skin, as it relieves puffiness and removes antioxidants and toxins.

Lotion

Ingredients:

  • chamomile - 2 filter bags;
  • vodka - 1 tbsp. l.

Recipe:

  1. Brew filter bags with boiling water.
  2. Let the tea cool.
  3. Pour the liquid into a glass container with a lid, add vodka.

Use the product to wipe your face in the morning and before bed. The lotion relieves pimples, acne and inflammation.

Cosmetic ice

The decoction is also used frozen. It should be poured into ice cube trays and frozen in the freezer. The healing properties of the plant, together with cold, strengthen blood vessels, increasing the speed of blood flow and improving the elasticity of the epidermis. Ice is recommended for women over 25 years of age.

The following ingredients are required:

  • chamomile flowers - 22 g;
  • water - 100 ml;
  • cocoa butter - 19 drops.

Cooking technology:

  1. Combine flowers with water and put on fire.
  2. Keep on low heat for 3 minutes.
  3. Let it brew.
  4. Strain and add oil.

Ice is used to remove makeup. The face is rubbed with slow movements along the massage lines (the skin in the eyelid area is rubbed counterclockwise). After the procedure, a moisturizing gel is applied to the face. It is recommended to use ice 2 to 3 times a day. The first result will appear within a week of using this product.

Lotions

Decoctions and infusions are used for lotions. The skin is first steamed by throwing a handful of dried flowers into boiling water. Face cream

Compound:

  • distilled water - 1 glass;
  • chicken yolk - 1 pc.;
  • chamomile flowers - 30 g;
  • almond, apricot and butter - 1 tbsp. l.;
  • glycerin, camphor oil and honey - 5 ml each.

Recipe for chamomile cream:

  1. Pour cold water over the flowers, boil and cool.
  2. Heat all types of oils in a water bath and add to the liquid.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.

This cream is suitable for dry skin. It can be used both in summer and in cold weather. The finished product should be stored in the refrigerator and should be reheated before use.

Tonic

  • hot water - 1 glass.

Chamomile tea

  • to achieve maximum effect, it is recommended to repeat the procedure at least once a week;
  • When applying the product, you should avoid the area around the eyes, as the skin in this area is too sensitive.

To prepare the scrub, crushed coffee beans are added to the mask.

For dry skin

To prepare a mask from a decoction of medicinal herbs, you will need to make a herbal mixture:

  • chamomile;
  • Linden blossom;
  • rose petals;
  • peppermint.

To prepare the collection you will need 2 tbsp. l. each type of grass. For one-time use, 2 tbsp is enough. l. dry mixture. Pour the collection with a glass of water and place in a water bath for 15 minutes. It is recommended to strain the broth and let it cool.

Directions for use: soak gauze in the broth and apply to face for 15 minutes.

For oily skin

Ingredients:

  • grape wine - 1 glass;
  • dry chamomile - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • salicylic alcohol - 1 tsp.

Combine all components and let brew for 5 days. After the specified time, the composition should be filtered. Soak a napkin or gauze folded in several layers in the resulting product and place it on the face. The duration of exposure is about 5 minutes. To tighten pores and get rid of oily shine, it is recommended to repeat the procedure for 10 days in a row.

For acne

Mask recipes:

  1. Beat an egg (1 pc.) until foamy. Add strained chamomile decoction (100 ml) and lemon juice (a few drops). Apply the product to your face, rinse with cold water after 20 minutes. Frequency of use: 1 time per week. The product relieves inflammation and dries the skin.
  2. Add a little black bread and honey (1 tbsp) to the warm chamomile decoction. Leave for 15 minutes. Strain, wet the cloth, apply to face for 20 minutes.
