How to use Bepanten for acne?This is a Swiss pharmaceutical product, which the manufacturer produces in the form of a spray, cream or ointment.
Moreover, in all forms the composition of the medicine is completely identical. The product differs only in consistency. Not all patients prefer to use cream because it is thicker, less absorbent and shiny on the skin. Therefore, when leaving home, it is recommended to use a lighter cream or lotion.

The mass is practically odorless and has a yellowish tint. The medicine contains vitamin B5, beeswax, almond oil components, etc.

Penetrating into skin cells, dexpanthenol becomes pantothenic acid, which quickly regenerates affected tissues and improves metabolism in them. After using the drug, the cells begin to recover and their functioning improves. After this, the active component is removed.

The cream nourishes the top layer of skin, moisturizing it, penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, preventing acne from scarring. In cases where the pimple opens, it is better to use Bepanten Plus, which has a stronger antiseptic effect.

BEPANTHEN (ointment)

I bought this ointment 4 years ago.
Its cost then was noticeably less than it is today. If I'm not mistaken, it was approximately 350-370 rubles. At the moment, the numbers are completely different, and the price varies between 420-470 rubles. Perhaps even more.

My last purchase turned out to be quite successful. In the Cheap Pharmacy pharmacy chain, this ointment cost me only 425 rubles.

In general, buying this ointment with d-panthenol is quite expensive.

This was especially hard on the wallet in the first 2 years of my daughter’s life, when we had to use it systematically due to exacerbations of atopic dermatitis.

But now everything is different, it seems that it is not used as often as before, but the price is no longer encouraging...

Of course, there are many analogues and alternatives at a more affordable price. So why not refocus on them, since the price is so high?

But not everything is as simple as it might seem...

First things first.

~~~~~Packaging, design, convenience~~~~~ Before talking about the effect, I want to pay attention to the design of the packaging.
It is strict and characteristic of medicinal drugs, but at the same time, very gentle and pleasant. Conducive to purchase.
The cardboard packaging briefly provides information about the purpose of this ointment. The title is duplicated in English.
Inside the cardboard box there were relatively small instructions and the tube itself with this ointment.
The tube turned out to be quite well thought out.
It is an aluminum tube with a polypropylene neck and cap.
As we can see, the lid has a sharp point in its upper part, with which you can pierce the protective foil membrane.
I didn't experience any inconvenience while using it. The contents were squeezed out of the tube quite easily. The lid unscrewed and screwed on without any problems.
In general, I am completely satisfied with the packaging, I have no complaints.
~~~~~Appearance, consistency, smell~~~~~ Bepanten ointment for treating and caring for a child’s skin looks like this.

It has a uniform white (or rather pale cream) color, a rather oily, viscous and thick consistency, which, in fact, is characteristic of ointments.

The smell doesn't excite me, but it is quite acceptable and tolerable. And, most importantly, not very pronounced. The manufacturer defines it as having a faint odor of lanolin.

The smell and consistency completely suit me, the ointment is quite normal.

~~~~~Indications for use, method of use~~~~~ The instructions contain a detailed description of the purpose of this ointment.
It has a wound healing or regenerating effect. Its spectrum of action is quite wide, and the ointment is even indicated for caring for the mammary gland... etc.
There are also recommendations on the method of application.
Below I am attaching a photo of the skin of the hand with ointment distributed on it and a photo after receiving the ointment layer.
~~~~~Effect~~~~~ And now about the most important thing, about the effect...

... For diaper rash... Of course, I used this ointment to treat diaper rash. But I didn’t use it under the diaper.

Rather, it was the other way around. When treating such troubles in a child, I tried to minimize his stay in a diaper. If possible, air baths were taken and ointment was applied to diaper rash.

Of course, I put on a diaper at night, but strictly without this ointment! In this case I used baby powder. This was the best option for my child.

For some reason, using this ointment together with a diaper, on the contrary, aggravated the diaper rash situation. And I didn’t use it for preventive purposes either. Simply put, this ointment was not suitable for us at all as a diaper product!

But, most importantly, in the treatment of diaper rash (using the method I selected), it turned out to be a fairly effective ointment and helped us well!

... For rashes, atopic dermatitis... For allergic rashes, I also had my own method of application.

In the initial stages of dermatosis (often with itchy and weeping rashes), I preferred zinc ointment or zinc paste. When they were already drying out, crusts were forming and it was necessary to speed up healing, this ointment with a regenerating effect was used.

For small, light and non-wetting rashes, I immediately armed myself with this product for external use and boldly smeared it on the inflamed areas.

This ointment was also used for preventive purposes, often applied to a child’s skin prone to dryness and flaking.

In both cases - during treatment and prevention, a very good effect was observed!

In recent years, my daughter has had much fewer skin problems. Perhaps this is partly due to the bathing emulsion. But this ointment still remains in demand...

... Other... Quite often she is smeared on our cheeks before going out. All this is done, of course, in advance, about an hour before departure.

And of course the ointment is very good for healing various wounds, etc.

I repeat once again that I am very pleased with the effect! And I prefer OINTMENT rather than cream, since the ointment has a prolonged effect, acts and penetrates more deeply.

For some reason I wasn’t particularly impressed with the cream, and I hold it in less esteem. Although, however, it is not so bad in its effect.

~~~~~Composition, safety, availability~~~~~Comparison with analogues~~~~~ If we are talking about a child, then safety comes first! And, especially if you have to use this ointment very often, almost daily, then it is important to pay attention to its composition.
It is presented in detail both in the instructions and on the packaging.
The composition, in my opinion, is quite good and relatively safe! Harmful and allergenic preservatives are not used, as is sometimes observed with some cheaper analogues.
But then what ensures the safety of the ointment? I assume that this may be due to the alcohols in the composition and beeswax.
The ointment worked great for our whole family. At first, I was very worried about the almond oil presented in this ointment as an excipient. But, fortunately, everything worked out without allergies.
And I think it’s worth noting the benefits of almond oil, which helps nourish and moisturize the skin and provide complete skin care.
To be honest, until a certain time I really admired this ointment.
But just recently I found a worthy analogue - Pantoderm ointment, which has an approximate composition as Bepanten, that is, it does not contain harmful and dangerous preservatives. And all this at a more or less reasonable price!
True, there are difficulties in purchasing this ointment; it is not found in every pharmacy, unlike the “Bepanten” ointment, which I see literally everywhere.
One way or another, all roads lead us to the ointment for treating and caring for a child’s skin “Bepanten”...
~~~~~Manufacturer and so on~~~~~ As I understand, this ointment is manufactured in Germany, “.

Storage requires normal conditions not exceeding 25 degrees Celsius. The shelf life is 3 years, it is indicated on the side of the box.

~~~~~Conclusions~~~~~ I am very pleased with this ointment, which has consistently high quality! In my opinion, this is an excellent product for caring for the delicate skin of a child, for the treatment and prevention of atopic skin, and for much more...
And of course, we should not forget about its relative safety.
In conclusion of the review, I would like to highlight the pros and cons of this ointment:
+ nice, delicate packaging design; + convenience of packaging - a well-thought-out cap with a tip; + the presence of a protective foil membrane;
+ acceptable smell, normal consistency;
+ effect - regenerating effect, nourishing and moisturizing the skin; + prolonged action, penetrates deeper than cream; + wide spectrum of action;
+ availability - sold everywhere; + safety - good composition, does not contain harmful preservatives; + there were no side effects, the ointment did not cause allergic reactions;
- perhaps the price.
This ointment definitely deserves the highest rating and recommendation!
Thank you for your attention! Be healthy!
Release forms
The drug is available in several forms, which differ in consistency and thickness, but are similar in composition.
Bepanten ointment is greasy than cream and can leave greasy stains on the skin and clothes. It is thick and viscous and does not absorb well. Available in tubes of 30 grams or more.
The lotion has a delicate structure and consistency. It is bottled in bottles of 200 ml. Apply the lotion by simply spraying it onto the damaged area or onto a cotton swab like a spray.
The cream is less “heavy” and greasy than Bepanten ointment. The active substances contained in the medicine quickly penetrate the blood. The cream is quickly absorbed into the skin.
There is a form of the medicine under the brand name “Bepanten plus”. It contains chlorhexidine. This cream has an enhanced antiseptic effect and better regenerates the skin. It is also available in tubes.
Scheme and mechanism of action
With the help of distilled water and paraffin, the consistency of the medicine is improved. It becomes lighter and absorbs quickly.
The alcohols in the medicine dry out and have an antiseptic effect, relieving inflammation on the skin.
Ointment or lotion eliminates microbes and saturates the skin with vitamins. In addition, the product can be applied not only to the skin of the face, but also to the entire body. The ointment has no severe side effects and does not have a toxic effect on the body, so it can be used for a long time.
This medicine is not only used to treat acne, but also reduces the likelihood of infection or bacteria in various wounds on the body.
It is used for burns on the skin and other skin problems.
The principle of action and beneficial properties of the drug in the fight against acne
Use a skin product depending on the problem that needs to be dealt with:
  • Wrinkles. To get rid of wrinkles, a cream is used that is applied once or twice a day to the skin of the face. The duration of use depends on the condition of the skin and the number of wrinkles.
  • Pimples. In this case, Bepanten is taken in the form of a cream. Apply twice a day: morning and evening. Can be used as an ointment and used as a face mask. The ointment is used in its pure form, left on the face for 30 minutes and washed off with warm water. You can repeat the procedure twice a day.
  • Allergy. For this purpose, the drug is used in the form of an ointment. It is allowed to use the ointment three times a day. Residues of the drug that are not absorbed into the skin are removed with a dry cloth;
  • Dryness and flaking. Depending on the skin type, different forms of the drug are purchased. The ointment is used for dry and normal skin, the cream for oily and combination skin. You should use the product no later than 30 minutes before going outside.
  • Burns. For burns, the drug is used in the form of an ointment. To get rid of a burn, you will need to apply the product to the damaged area and secure it with a plaster or bandage. The burn should be treated with the new composition three times a day, every 8 hours. Use the product until the burn disappears completely and the skin is restored. It is allowed to use a cream that is applied up to 3 times a day until the epidermis is restored;
  • Small wounds. Apply a thin layer to the damaged area of skin several times a day.
  • Dermatitis. If atopic dermatitis appears, the ointment is used for one to two weeks. For a weeping form, the duration of the course increases to 3 weeks. In this case, it is recommended to consult a doctor.
HELP: When treating burns, it is recommended to wait 20–30 minutes after removing the bandage to apply a new product and allow the skin to dry a little.
Application for acne on the face
Its use allows you to restore the structure of tissues and cells of the dermis. Therefore, dermatologists often recommend the medicine to their patients who suffer from pimples and acne. In addition, the medicine can cope with other skin defects (scars, cicatrices, post-acne).
The effect of the drug implies not only the elimination of acne, but also helps to get rid of the marks after it.
Under the influence of the cream, the patient's metabolism in the dermal cells improves, and the collagen fibers become denser. This helps tighten the skin in the area of application.
Bepanten vitaminizes the skin, relieving inflammation and eliminating microbes. It helps to cope with blemishes on the skin, smoothing it out and regenerating the epidermis.
Due to its formula, the medicine acts in several directions at once:
  • Softening the skin
  • Absorption of beneficial ingredients of the drug
  • Antiseptic effect on the desired area
  • Regeneration of patient tissue.
After using Bepanten for acne, it is possible to remove acne, and scars practically do not form after using the ointment.
The healing effect of Bepanthen
The action of the pharmaceutical product is based on the penetration deep into the epidermis of the main active element, which is dexpanthenol, where it is transformed into pantothenic acid. This substance, in turn, performs a very important function in the formation and restoration of skin cells.
It is thanks to pantothenic acid that skin cells are quickly restored, renewed and are able to function normally. In addition, the acid does not participate in a single cellular metabolism and is removed from the body in its original unchanged form.
If we consider Bepanten as a treatment for acne and large internal pimples , then we can also note the impressive health benefits of the drug, namely:
  1. Penetration deep into the skin to the very base of cellular inflammation,
  2. Antibacterial and disinfecting effect on the inside of the abscess,
  3. Nutrition, stimulation, hydration and protection of the upper cellular zones,
  4. Preventing scarring in the area of a healing pimple,
  5. Speedy restoration and healing of skin damaged after opening an abscess, as well as its subsequent antimicrobial and healing effect from acne marks.
Thanks to its rich composition, this medicinal substance can significantly improve cellular metabolism, provoke global regeneration of the skin, and also increase the strength and elasticity of collagen fibers.
Indications
The drug can be used not only as a remedy for acne, but also used for the prevention and treatment of diaper rash in infants. Bepanten's list of indications also includes dermatitis, which begins after wet diapers come into contact with the baby's skin.
The medicine copes with skin irritations of any origin, for example, redness from the sun, mild chemical burns, mechanical friction from clothing.
Nursing mothers keep Bepanten in their first aid kit to care for their nipples during lactation. The cream heals cracks and softens the delicate skin in this area.
Treatment with the drug is effective for injuries and damage to the epidermis, for example, wounds, pustules, abrasions, burns, abrasions, scratches, etc.
For deep wounds, it is used only in complex therapy, when the process of healing the wound surface comes to an end. For small wounds, when there is a risk of germs, dermatologists recommend using Bepanten Plus lotion or cream.
The drug can be used to treat skin conditions that require regeneration or healing, for example, mechanical damage during peeling, treatment of open acne, erosions or cracks in the skin.
The medicine can be used to treat almost all groups of patients. Bepanten is used only in lotion form for children aged 3 months and older.
It is harmless during pregnancy or lactation, both for mother and child.
Indications for use
Bepanten promotes rapid healing of damaged tissues and disinfection.
  1. The ointment is widely used for regular care of the delicate skin of a newborn. Suitable for the treatment of diaper rash, diaper dermatitis, prickly heat. It is also used for prevention. For pregnant women and young mothers, the drug is indicated as a means of basic care for the mammary glands, for the treatment of cracks and irritations of the nipples during breastfeeding. The product is indispensable in getting rid of sunburn, the result of exposure to chemicals and irritants. Bepanten is indicated for use in the presence of skin ulcers, bedsores, anal fissures, and cervical erosion. You cannot do without it in case of skin transplantation.
  2. The lotion is suitable for treating facial skin after prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or water treatments. Quickly heals cracks, abrasions and scratches, regenerates the skin.
  3. The cream is indicated for use in cases of injury with a threat of infection. It can be used to treat cuts, scrapes and insect bites.
Instructions for use for acne
To eliminate boils, nodules, blackheads, pimples, and papules on the skin, dermatologists recommend using Bepanten cream and lotion.
How to use the medicine correctly?
The skin in the desired area is cleaned of dust and cosmetics are washed off. After this, acne must be treated with alcohol-containing products. It could be a tincture or lotion.
Half an hour after this, the medicine is applied to this area of skin pointwise.
For small pimples and eliminating irritation, spray the lotion onto a cotton pad and wipe the desired area of the skin with it. The cream is effective against acne caused by allergies. It is applied precisely several times a day.
Doctors recommend using the ointment to treat particularly severe cases of acne. The ointment is applied to acne every 12 hours. Course of treatment: several days until effectiveness is achieved.
Medicines should not be worn constantly, because bacteria and microorganisms quickly adapt to the components of the medicine and the antimicrobial effect becomes less pronounced.
To eliminate acne marks or scars, the patient should cleanse the skin, rub the medicine in with light massage movements and leave to absorb.
How to use it correctly to fight acne?
The principle of action of the drug Bepanten is based on the fact that the main component - dexpanthenol, after its oxidation, turns into pantothenic acid in the body, which activates the regeneration of the dermis, while improving cellular metabolism and increasing the strength of collagen fibers.
Vitamin B5 has a regenerating, anti-inflammatory and protective effect; it perfectly saturates the skin with essential minerals and vitamins. Additional components actively nourish and soften dry dermis.
The beneficial properties of Bepanten are widely known in medicine, namely:
  • The drug softens the skin and easily reduces spots, scars and inflammation after acne;
  • Destroys bacteria and disinfects acne wounds;
  • Helps restore the damaged inner layer of the dermis;
  • Saturates the skin, while it becomes smooth and velvety, improving the outer skin;
  • Removes scars and post-acne.
When treating acne, experts recommend using Bepanten, following the following steps:
  • Stage 1 – it is necessary to cleanse the skin of impurities, cosmetics, dust and other things;
  • Stage 2 – treat acne with alcohol-containing products: tinctures, tonics, lotions. These products dry out the skin, while Bepanten will nourish and moisturize the dermis.
  • Stage 3 – 30 minutes after the second stage, Bepanten should be applied pointwise to the area of damaged skin.
Let's consider the features of using various forms of the drug:
  • Bepanten lotion - used against small pimples, will provide an excellent result in cleansing the skin of the face and will relieve existing irritations. The lotion is applied to a cotton sponge and wiped over the face; the product dries quickly and leaves no traces;
  • Bepanten cream copes well with acne caused by allergies. This form quickly restores the epidermis and relieves irritation. The cream should be used several times a day, applied to the affected skin, until the allergic rash disappears completely;
  • Bepanten ointment - when fighting severe types of acne, should be applied to the affected areas twice a day, and so on for several days, until a positive effect is obtained.
With prolonged use, the drug may lose its antimicrobial property, which leads to loss of sensitivity of microorganisms to the components that make up Bepanten.
Bepanten effectively acts on imperfections such as scars, scars, and acne spots. In this case, the drug must be used 2-3 times a day.
Bepanten should be used as follows:
  • Clean the skin in the area of the scar;
  • Apply the drug to a clean and dry area of the scar in a small layer, while lightly massaging;
  • Leave until completely absorbed by the skin.
Bepanten is well absorbed by the skin, toning and moisturizing it, which ensures the compaction of collagen fibers and the skin becomes elastic.
The presented product has absolutely no contraindications; even women during pregnancy and lactation can use it.
Since the drug does not contain hormones or parabens, it will not harm the baby.
Therefore, pregnant women and nursing mothers often use Bepanten in the fight against imperfect skin.
But it is still better to get a full consultation with a specialist in the use of Bepanten in order to avoid various allergic reactions to the existing components in the drug.
For Bepanten to bring maximum benefit, it should be used according to the instructions:
  • Cleanse the skin before applying the drug;
  • Apply the drug externally, 2-3 times a day;
  • Apply only to imperfect areas of the skin, in a thin layer, leaving until completely dry.
Bepanten is simply irreplaceable for women in labor, as it heals wounds and cracks on the nipples well during lactation, but this remedy should not be used just before breastfeeding.
When used for children, Bepanten receives good reviews from mothers. It also quickly and effectively treats pimples on children's skin.
The drug will prevent the appearance of new rashes in children, and will also reduce the number of existing acne on the skin. The product will help the pimple to mature, and after it ruptures, it will easily restore the damaged epidermis.
What is worth considering when using this drug in childhood is that it is better to use Bepanten lotion or cream. It is these forms that do not clog the pores, as the ointment does, which subsequently leads to new manifestations of acne.
As a precaution, the drug should not be used:
  • Simultaneously with other antiseptics;
  • With soaps and other anionic compounds.
But still, so far there have not been any cases of incompatibility of Bepanten with other drugs.
Marina Tsukanova, 43 years old
Elvira Potapenko, 27 years old
Bepanten is an effective remedy for many dermatological problems, including facial skin. It can be used for both medicinal and cosmetic purposes - in many beauty salons Bepanten is recommended to be used not only for skin regeneration after traumatic procedures, but also as an independent care cream.
Bepanten is a non-hormonal drug; its base is dexpanthenol. Thanks to the active substance the product:
  • has antibacterial properties,
  • treats inflammation,
  • penetrates deep into the epidermis,
  • moisturizes the skin,
  • increases its elasticity.
Bepanthena accelerates the regeneration of epidermal cells. With its help, diaper rash and redness are eliminated, and damaged areas of the skin are restored. One of the most effective remedies used to get rid of burns.
REFERENCE: The drug has a protective effect, which allows it to be used on the skin under unfavorable environmental conditions.
Overdose and possible complications
This medicine is practically harmless because it does not contain chemical dyes or preservatives, but the pantothenic acid it contains can cause peeling of the skin. This occurs due to accelerated restoration of the dermis. If the patient frequently uses the drug, this may cause oversaturation with vitamin B.
Another negative consequence of using the medication may be hives or itching. Swelling, blisters or urticaria are less common.
The rarest consequence is hypersensitivity, which provokes anaphylactic reactions or asthma attacks.
If the drug is used exactly according to the instructions, then an overdose is impossible. Even with large volumes of the applied product, the medicine does not have a toxic effect on the body.
Contraindications
Bepanten has virtually no contraindications; the drug does not contain any dyes or preservatives, so there is no reason to worry about possible consequences.
However, medicines based on pantothenic acid can cause the following negative reactions:
  • With frequent use, the skin begins to peel off, as the regeneration of the dermis occurs too quickly;
  • Also, with frequent application of the product, oversaturation with vitamin B may occur, which is just as dangerous as its deficiency;
  • Individual intolerance to any component included in Bepanten, which causes an allergic reaction.
With all its advantages, Bepanten is a medicinal product, so it should be used only when necessary, and normal dryness should be combated with proper skin care.
As for contraindications, the only warning that exists is the body’s individual reaction (allergy) to the components of Bepanten’s composition.
NOTE: Those who have an allergic reaction to vitamin B5 are advised to use the drug with extreme caution. There is a possibility that an allergy may occur.
Analogues of the drug
Analogs of the drug are products that contain dexpanthenol and have a similar effect on the body.
Dexpanthenol
This is a drug that comes in the form of an ointment. Doctors use it to treat skin defects, wounds, ulcers and acne.
D-panthenol
This is a Croatian medicine that comes in the form of a cream or ointment. Its active ingredient is dexpanthenol and auxiliary components that enhance the effect of the product.
Panthenol
This drug has the same effect as Bepanten and is available in the form of an emulsion, cream or aerosol. The drug can be purchased not only at pharmacy kiosks, but also in a regular store.
Pantocrem
This is a drug that is recommended for the prevention of acne and skin diseases, but is not always effective for their treatment.
general information
Bepanthen cream and ointment
The drug for combating acne is produced by the pharmaceutical industry in the form of cream, ointment and lotion. They all have the same composition, but they differ only in consistency (as can be seen in the photo: on the left is cream, on the right is ointment). Bepanten is a white or pale yellow product with a faint odor.
Compound
The main active ingredient is dexpanthenol, which also has another name - provitamin B5. In addition, Bepanten contains cetearyl and cetyl alcohol. Cream, ointment and lotion are distinguished by additional substances that care for the skin. These include the following components: beeswax, lanolin, almond oil, liquid paraffin and water.
Additional components give the cream, ointment and lotion specific qualities: viscosity, ease of application and absorption into the skin.
In addition to the listed forms, Bepanten Plus is also available, which contains chlorhexidine dihydrochloride. This component anesthetizes and disinfects the affected area of the skin.
Drug price
The cost of Bepanten in different regions of Russia ranges from 400 to 560 rubles per tube containing 30 g of the drug. The price of tubes with a capacity of 100 g is approximately 800 - 930 rubles, the cost of lotion is from 300 rubles. The drug is sold without a prescription.
Reviews
Reviews about this drug are quite positive. It has earned special love from consumers because it has few contraindications, virtually no side effects and is suitable even for infants. It can be safely used for pregnant women, infants, and nursing mothers. Patients who have used it to treat acne note that results can be obtained within 7-14 days after starting use.
Another advantage noted in reviews is its wide range of applications. Cream or ointment can be used to prevent and treat stretch marks. It relieves irritation, treats scars and wounds, and eliminates inflammation. But the treatment of scars and stretch marks requires long-term use to achieve a lasting effect.
The advantage of the product is its non-toxicity. The drug has virtually no side effects.
Among the reviews of people using the medicine, there are very few negative ratings. Mostly, patients talk about allergic reactions and peeling of the skin.
Bepanten for newborns and nursing
Bepanten is a universal composition for pregnant women, lactating women and newborns. It is useful for women and children. Treats cracked nipples and diaper rash. Every mother is advised to take this form of the drug with her to the maternity hospital to care for the baby and her breasts.
The instructions recommend using Bepanthen ointment for nursing mothers. The question of a wound healing agent arises after the first birth, at the beginning of feeding. The nipples of a nulliparous woman are surrounded by thin skin; during the first feedings they are often injured (sores and cracks appear). After 2-3 weeks, the skin on the nipples thickens and becomes rough. To protect the nipples and prevent cracks, wound-healing compositions are used - Bepanten ointment or cream.
Bepanten nipple ointment should be applied after each feeding. Before the next feeding, the ointment is washed off and the breasts are wiped dry. The composition is not harmful to the baby, but it will be uncomfortable for a newborn baby to take the slippery, greasy nipple into his mouth. As a result, malnutrition, irritation, crying, and intestinal colic are possible.
The question arises, is it necessary to wash off Bepanten ointment? The instructions state that it is not necessary to wash off Bepanten ointment. Unlike cream, which must be washed off before feeding.
The manufacturer of the ointment says that even if Bepanten gets into the esophagus of a newborn baby, it will not harm him. Therefore, the question of whether to wash off Bepanten ointment before feeding does not have a clear recommendation. It’s better to wash it off, but it’s okay if you don’t wash off the composition completely.
The composition of the ointment is used to treat existing irritations. It is applied to areas of redness and peeling (under the diaper or on the baby’s skin folds). How to use Bepanthen ointment for diaper rash?
To prevent skin irritation, apply cream under the diaper and change the diaper in a timely manner. If the diaper is kept on for too long, redness occurs - the inflamed skin is smeared with ointment (a small layer before putting on the diaper).
Bepanthen is also applied to diathesis rashes (dermatitis, skin inflammation of an allergic nature). The ointment dries and relieves skin irritation. You must understand that Bepanten ointment for dermatitis is not the main treatment. It removes the visible symptoms of an allergic reaction. Reduces irritation and alleviates the baby's condition - eliminates itching, irritability, and crying. The ointment does not eliminate the main cause of allergies (indigestibility of foods, allergic rash to certain food components).
Bepanten ointment for diathesis - applied during each diaper change. However, it must be taken into account that the drug contains additional components. They themselves can cause allergies. The manufacturer of ointments and creams Bepanten warns about this in the list of contraindications to the use of the drug.
Conclusion
The drug is considered an effective non-toxic medicine that is affordable. Regardless of the form of release, the drug has low toxicity and a small number of side effects. In this regard, it can be used by children aged 3 months and older, pregnant women, and nursing mothers.
The range of uses of the drug is quite diverse.
Dermatologists and cosmetologists recommend it for the treatment of acne, boils, ulcers, uninfected wounds, and scars. The cream can be used to care for the nipples of women during lactation. Bepanten is used to treat diaper dermatitis and prevent diaper rash. It is used to treat stretch marks, burns, scars and other skin defects.
There are practically no negative reviews from patients who have used the drug. It is not recommended to use the ointment only for people with individual intolerance to the components of the drug. The medicine can be bought at a pharmacy kiosk without a prescription. To achieve a sustainable effect, it is necessary to use it for 7 to 14 days.
