Cedar oil for face in cosmetology: types

Cedar is an excellent antiseptic and restorative natural remedy. In cosmetology, cedar oil is used to rejuvenate aging facial skin, treat inflammatory processes, and acne. The product can help restore the elasticity and firmness of the skin and strengthen turgor.

For cosmetic purposes, it is permissible to use two types of products for the face and hair:

  1. Basic fatty cedar oil;
  2. Cedar essential oil.

The first type is obtained from the nuts of the Siberian pine pine, growing in Altai, by cold pressing. It is a light yellow liquid with a pleasant nutty aroma. Vegetable cedar oil is used to moisturize facial skin, strengthen skin barrier properties, and also as a cleanser.

The ether is produced by steam distillation from pine needles or pieces of wood from certain types of cedar, thuja and juniper. Especially famous are Texas cedar, its homeland is America, and Atlas cedar, which grows in the Atlas Mountains of Algeria and Morocco. Atlas cedar ether is also famous for being the first oil that humans could extract. The Egyptians were the first to use cedar ether for embalming.

The smell of essential cedar oil is very unique: strong, bitter, tart, smoky and a little reminiscent of the aroma of resin and sandalwood, but drier. Of all the coniferous esters, cedar ester is the most saturated.

In cosmetology, cedar essential oil for the face is used to treat inflammatory processes and acne. It cleanses oily skin from acne and pimples, but, in addition, has an equally beneficial effect on dry, damaged epidermis.

Composition and benefits of cedar oil for the face

The drug is used quite widely, due to the richness of its composition. Cedar oil contains rare fatty acids (pinolenic, linoleic, alpha-linolenic, gadoleic, etc.), phospholipids, tocopherols, phytosterols, vitamins and squalene, which provide extensive and complete nutrition of the skin, restoration of its protective properties, and synthesis of its own collagen.

As a result, due to the complex effects of all of the above components, even external use of cedar oil on the face brings tangible benefits:

  1. Nourishes and moisturizes. Lack of moisture contributes to the formation of wrinkles and creases on the skin and is one of the main causes of early aging. Cedar oil is even useful for caring for the sensitive area around the eyes.
  2. Protects against ultraviolet radiation.
  3. Renews, improves tone and accelerates regeneration of the skin.
  4. Heals, relieves irritation, peeling, soothes inflamed skin.
  5. Rejuvenates by stimulating the process of collagen production, saturating the skin with vitamins and improving barrier functions. Makes skin that has already undergone age-related changes firm and elastic, preventing the appearance of wrinkles.
  6. Tightens the oval of the face and improves skin color (with long-term use).
  7. Fights inflammation and skin infections (pimples, acne, dermatitis). Cedar essential oil for the face helps especially well in this case.

Combining cedar oil with other essential oils and cosmetics

Cedarwood ether goes well with the following oils:

  • benzoin;
  • Ceylon cinnamon;
  • pink tree;
  • neroli;
  • bergamot;
  • rosemary;
  • jasmine;
  • juniper;
  • cypress;
  • calamus;
  • lavender;
  • incense;
  • lemon;
  • Linden blossom;
  • boronia;
  • cassia;
  • costus;
  • mimosa;
  • clary sage;
  • couscous;
  • ylang-ylang.

By mixing 2-4 ingredients in equal proportions, saturate your usual cosmetic products. For 100 ml of shampoo you will need 8-10 drops of the essential composition, which are added directly to the factory tube with the product. This product is stored in a bathtub, but so that hot water does not come into contact with it. The same can be done with body and face gel. In the latter case, the dosage should be reduced by 100 mg of product to 5 drops.

Cosmetics will become more effective with essential oils, but they must be used carefully

For richer textures, rich creams and lotions, it is better to use a one-time enrichment, immediately before applying to the skin. For the body, add 2-3 drops per serving, for the face - 1-2 drops of the essential composition. You should not completely enrich the jar of cream, as this leads to oxidation of the entire product! Even if stored in the refrigerator, you can use this product for no more than 3-4 days.

An important rule: make sure that your cosmetics contain only those esters that are combined with cedar oil!
