Niacinamide for facial skin: analyzing the benefits

Vitamins play a huge role in youthful skin. But there are so many of them that without understanding which ones are needed in a particular case, you may not help your facial skin, but harm it. That is why it is advisable to study how vitamins of a particular group act on the body, and which ones can be combined with.

Looking as young as possible is the desire of every woman. From a young age, they use collagen masks, wipe their skin with peach oil, etc. She is very delicate and ages faster than men. That’s why it requires proper care and vitamin supplementation.

Of course, many useful substances and vitamins are contained in the daily diet. However, this is often not enough to constantly maintain flawless skin condition. In this case, you have to use vitamin complexes purchased at the pharmacy.

Useful vitamins for facial skin

Using this table, you can determine which vitamins are missing in the body and what exactly the benefits are.

VitaminSigns of its deficiency in the bodyBenefit
AFirst of all, people with a lack of this vitamin see very poorly in the dark (complete vitamin deficiency leads to night blindness). Externally, its deficiency is determined by the early appearance of “crow’s feet” in the outer corners of the eyes, dryness and flaking of the skin When consumed, the protective properties of the skin from harmful environmental factors increase. The skin becomes hydrated and more elastic.
B2With a lack of riboflavin (aka B2), lips often dry and crack, and signs of dermatitis appear on the skin of the face.The metabolic process in the epithelial cells is normalized, and they are saturated with oxygen.
B7A lack of biotin is determined by flaking of the face, its pallor, as well as hair loss.Replenishing biotin will improve the regenerative properties of epidermal cells.
B9When there is not enough folic acid, the face looks tired. At the same time, hair falls out a lot. By consuming foods and vitamin complexes containing folic acid, the skin is kept youthful and fresh.
CThe skin shows sagging, blackheads, freckles and vascular patterns.This vitamin improves collagen production, strengthens blood vessels and helps get rid of puffiness under the eyes.
EWith a lack of tocopherol, facial skin becomes drier and rougher.Tocopherol helps to saturate and moisturize the skin.
RWhen the body lacks routine, vascular patterns become more common and the tendency to bruise increases.With the help of rutin, vascular cells are strengthened and their frequency of damage is reduced.
RRPale and dry skin can also be associated with a lack of niacin. In some cases, the lips get a bluish tint. The advantage of niacin is the saturation of epidermal cells with oxygen and improved enzyme formation.
TOIn case of its deficiency, pigmentation occurs, and the skin is more susceptible to inflammation and swelling.One of the most important vitamins, since it is responsible for skin regeneration and normalizes blood circulation.

Essential vitamins for different facial skin types

For the effect to be noticeable, vitamins should be selected taking into account your skin type. There are 4 of them in total:

  1. Fat. Its only advantage compared to other types is longer skin youth. And it in no way compensates for a number of shortcomings such as: constant inflammation, loss of elasticity, oily shine, acne, as well as excessive sweating. This skin type is known to be problematic and needs vitamins such as A, B, PP, Zn, PP. When they are replenished, the skin noticeably becomes more elastic, flaking and oily shine are eliminated. Zinc and niacin, included in products and ointments, eliminate oily shine and acne.
  2. Dry. This skin needs hydration. To do this, consume products containing fatty acids, ellagic acid. To restore vitamin balance, it is possible to use in capsules or in food such as: A, B (including folic acid), C, E, K.
  3. Mixed type. For such skin, it is necessary to remove toxins from the body, break down fats, eliminate acne, and moisturize. It requires vitamins of groups B, C, E, Fe, K and P. It is worth noting that vitamin E is an antioxidant that has a complex effect and promotes facial rejuvenation, cell regeneration and the elimination of a tired look.
  4. Normal. Vitamins of groups B and E are suitable for it, with the help of which the skin cells will retain moisture and maintain smoothness.

What foods do they contain?

Now it’s worth carefully considering what foods should be included in your daily diet to restore vitamin balance and improve the appearance of your facial skin:

VitaminProducts
AThis vitamin is found in large quantities in liver, egg yolks, fish oil, onions, beets, apricots, carrots and butter.
B2There is a lot of riboflavin in cottage cheese, fish, meat, almonds and cocoa.
B7Biotin is a component of egg yolk, beans, walnuts and liver.
B9The liver also contains folic acid, as do beans, greens and coarse flour.
CThe lack of vitamin C can be compensated by eating citrus fruits, spinach, sweet peppers, rose hips and black currants.
ETocopherol is found in large quantities in soybean, sunflower and flaxseed oil, as well as in wheat germ.
RA lot of rutin is found in chokeberry, plums, grapes, rose hips, garlic, sorrel and green tea.
RRTo replenish the amount of niacin in your body, you need to eat milk, chicken, cheese, eggs, fish and peanuts.
TOIt is found a lot in tomatoes, nuts, spinach, carrots, greens and rowan berries.

A: anti-wrinkle product

Dr. Georgiana Donadio, founder of the National University of Health in Boston, says that the condition of facial skin reflects processes occurring in the body. To get rid of diseases, consume vitamin A. It accelerates cell regeneration. It is for this reason that a deficiency of the substance makes itself felt by peeling of the integument, which does not have time to recover. The vitamin also has the following effects:

  • restores lost elasticity to the skin and prevents drying out;
  • normalizes blood circulation and relieves rosacea;
  • due to the ability to restore the cellular structure of the epidermis, it increases protection from ultraviolet radiation;
  • reduces the manifestations of hyperpigmentation;
  • normalizes sebum production, which eliminates clogging of pores.

The substance is contained in the following products:

  • milk and cottage cheese;
  • eggs;
  • fish;
  • broccoli;
  • citrus fruits;
  • spinach;
  • carrots.

The vitamin is also useful as a component of creams. In 2003, French dermatologists proved that products with vitamin A smooth out wrinkles, reduce acne and even alleviate the symptoms of psoriasis. This was confirmed by studies published in the British Journal of Dermatology. To achieve results, use a night cream with retinoids (group A substances). Dr. Doris Day, a dermatologist in New York, says there are more than 700 published studies showing the effectiveness of products containing this ingredient.

How to use vitamin products to improve skin? Apply them before bed, as the sun's rays have a detrimental effect on the beneficial component. If you use a cream with this substance and then expose your skin to ultraviolet light, there is a possibility of irritation and redness. The fact is that the sun damages skin cells, and vitamin restores them. These processes, occurring simultaneously, have a bad effect on your appearance.

How to take vitamins for facial skin?

Before purchasing vitamins of a certain group at a pharmacy, you should make sure that there are no contraindications.

These include:

  • hypervitaminosis;
  • thyroid diseases;
  • pregnancy;
  • lactation.

In addition, children should use vitamin complexes with caution even if prescribed by a pediatrician. Adults should contact nutritionists who will adjust the diet and prescribe the necessary vitamins and medications.

These doctors determine how appropriate it is to use the vitamin complex and the dosage. The course of use is also determined by the doctor, but usually it does not exceed 30 days.

Attention! It is highly not recommended to take vitamins on an empty stomach, since their properties are lost and, at best, they will not be absorbed. Much better during or after meals.

You should also take into account that vitamins for facial skin should be taken with plenty of water. But what you can’t do is take several vitamin complexes within one course. Doctors recommend keeping a break between courses of at least two weeks.

E: moisturizing and preventing flaking

Vitamin E is a substance essential for beautiful skin. This antioxidant protects the skin from sun rays, prevents the appearance of dark spots, and relieves inflammation.

Before taking facial skin vitamins in tablets, adjust your diet and include the following foods:

  • almond;
  • sunflower seeds;
  • spinach;
  • avocado;
  • broccoli;
  • olives;
  • parsley

The oil solution, sold in capsules, is useful for external use. After puncturing the shell, use the contents for homemade masks :

  1. To improve the condition of skin prone to dryness, make a moisturizer by enriching olive oil with a few drops of the solution. Apply to your face before going to bed and go to bed: the mixture will be completely absorbed overnight. The recipe will allow you to cope with hyperpigmentation of the integument (masks should be done daily). If you have oily skin, such a product can lead to clogged pores, so consult a cosmetologist.
  2. Vitamins for the face will also provide deep cleansing. It is enough to apply the solution to a cotton swab and use it instead of a regular makeup remover: the substance will remove impurities and help maintain oil balance.

Rules for using vitamins

There are 2 types of vitamins:

  1. Water soluble. These include groups B and C. They easily dissolve in water and are absorbed into the blood.
  2. Fat soluble. These are A, D, E. They are poorly soluble in water, so they are mixed with fats before use.

It’s worth noting right away: that a balanced diet is very important for facial skin care, and it will not lead to an overdose of any beneficial substances.

Regardless of what vitamins you purchase at the pharmacy and consume, you should adhere to the following rules:

  • Only vitamins of groups A and E can be consumed at a time; in other cases it is prohibited;
  • You can use pharmacy vitamins only after consulting a specialist;
  • drink only as prescribed by a doctor;
  • Upon completion of the course, consult a doctor for a second consultation and monitoring of the vitamin therapy performed.

In tablets

Vitamin tablets also contain other useful microelements.

What are the rules for taking pills that the market offers:

  • "Aevit" has no contraindications. In it, vitamin E helps the second element (A) to be absorbed;
  • “Aekol” contains A, E and K in its composition. In principle, there are also no contraindications to its use for most people, but still, consultation with a doctor is necessary if there are contraindications;
  • "AlfaVIT Cosmetics" are tablets of three different colors, where yellow ones contain vitamins for rejuvenating facial skin, green ones - for strengthening it, and orange ones - for rapid regenerative functions and reducing allergic symptoms. They are often prescribed by allergists and cosmetologists;
  • independent use of vitamin complexes is possible only if you are fully familiar with the composition in order to eliminate negative consequences after taking them;
  • As is the case with all medications, monitoring expiration dates is mandatory;
  • It is also advisable to conduct a reaction test before use to identify unwanted reactions.

In capsules

Improper use of vitamin capsules can harm the body and not improve the condition of facial skin.

Therefore it is recommended:

  • use monovitamin formulations or a combination containing vitamins A and E, since often multivitamin complexes in capsules are not always beneficial;
  • It is highly not recommended to open ampoules for a long time, since synthesized vitamins always react with oxygen, due to which they lose their beneficial properties;
  • If an allergic reaction occurs, the drug should be discontinued by informing the doctor who prescribed the vitamin complex.

In ampoules

Vitamins in ampoules are excellent in that they are well absorbed and quickly absorbed into the body. In addition, they are easy to find on pharmacy shelves.

Basic precautions include:

  1. Do not use if you are allergic to any component.
  2. It is prohibited to use several types of vitamins in one course due to their possible incompatibility.
  3. Any use of vitamins in ampoules in the presence of chronic diseases should be monitored by a doctor.
  4. When opening the ampoule, you should immediately drink the component, otherwise the substances will react with oxygen and lose their beneficial properties.

Add to cream

In masks, a combination of several vitamins is possible, since the conflict is not so pronounced. But you should still adhere to the rule that making a mask is better than a monovitamin one. Vitamins can be added not only to masks, but also to lotions and creams.

Important! You can determine if you are allergic to the vitamin by applying a small amount of the mask to your wrist or behind your ear and waiting about half an hour. If no symptoms have arisen during this period, the mask can be used.

Skin problems

Any skin problem is caused by a deficiency of several vitamins. This is why vitamin complexes are produced.

If there is peeling, there is a deficiency of B vitamins (B2, B5, B6), as well as vitamins A, F, PP.

Wrinkled, old, flabby skin will be supported by vitamins B1, C, E, A, F.

Vitamins B2, E, B6, A, C, H fight acne. They also eliminate comedones and help the skin renew itself and exfoliate.

Vitamins PP, C, F, A, K, E are responsible for firmness and elasticity. In combination, they improve regeneration and stimulate collagen synthesis.

Vitamins C, B3, and PP can make your skin glow. They make the face smooth, matte, relieve puffiness, and erase age spots.

You should take complex medications at intervals of two to three months. What drugs should I pay attention to? You need to study the manufacturer’s information and listen to the opinion of the pharmacist.

The best vitamin complexes

Vitamin complexes differ from monovitamins in that these are general-purpose products. They deserve special attention, and therefore common complexes should be considered.

The most common and purchased vitamin complexes include:

  1. "Aevit" . Available in capsules and tablets. Helps moisturize the skin and smooth out fine wrinkles. Possible internal and external use.
  2. "Vitrum Beauty" . It gained popularity due to its content of vitamins and antioxidants.
  3. "Supradin" . This is a multivitamin complex containing a lot of biotin, zinc, coenzyme, fatty acids and copper.
  4. "Complete Radiance" . Contains green tea extract, copper, zinc and folic acid. Thanks to this balanced composition, the skin is smoothed, acne is eliminated, collagen is produced and the regenerative functions of cells are improved.
  5. "Perfectil" . The main components are selenium and zinc, which are so necessary for pregnant women, as well as copper and biotin. Excellent in combating dry skin. Cells regenerate and the skin rejuvenates.
  6. "Famvital" . This French drug makes wrinkles less deep, strengthens nails, prevents hair loss, and helps maintain a slim figure. It has a tonic, antioxidant, thermogenic and tonic effect.

Face masks using vitamins

It is important to consider that the composition of the mask differs for each skin type. But in any case, cosmetologists recommend using them twice a week (no more, but no less). Before application, the skin should be thoroughly cleansed using scrubs.

For oily skin

For oily skin, you can resort to preparing one of the following masks:

  1. Made from oatmeal. In addition to this main component, it includes: lemon juice, warm water and 5 drops of vitamin E dissolved in oil. Mix flour with water until a paste forms, then add other components and apply to the face for 15 minutes. After this period, the mask is washed off and the face is treated with cream.
  2. To combat oily skin and acne. Use an ampoule of tocopherol, tsp. dimexide, the same amount of water, 1 ampoule of retinol, and 1 tbsp. l. sour cream and white clay. All this is mixed and applied in the same way for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Add 1 ampoule of “Aevit” to grape seed oil and apply to the face for 20 minutes, and then rinse.

For dry skin

For this skin type you can use the following masks:

  • With glycerin and vitamin E. This combination will relieve the skin of signs of premature aging and peeling, and moisturize it. At 2 tbsp. l. water you will need 1 tbsp. l. glycerin and 1 ampoule of tocopherol. Mix, apply to face for 15 minutes and rinse.
  • Curd and olive. You will need 2 tbsp. l. cottage cheese, 3 tsp. olive oil and 5 drops of tocopherol. Mix the cottage cheese with butter until a homogeneous mass is obtained, then add the vitamin and apply for 20 minutes. Afterwards, the mask is washed off, and a cream used daily is applied to the face.
  • Nutritious. It contains: 1 egg yolk, 1 tbsp. l. linden honey, 1 tbsp. l. fat milk and 10 drops of tocopherol dissolved in oil. All components are mixed until smooth and applied to the face for 20 minutes.
  • With lanolin. For 1 tbsp. l. of this component, take 1 ampoule of vitamin E, mix everything and apply for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water.

For skin elasticity

For elasticity, you can use the following masks:

  • With linden honey. In addition to this component, the composition includes: lemon juice, 5 drops of dissolved vitamin E and unsweetened natural yogurt (1 tbsp.). The ingredients are mixed until smooth and applied to the face except for the area around the eyes for 20 minutes. Then rinse with cool water and treat your face with cream.
  • With vitamin C. The mask consists of 2 tbsp. l. banana puree, 1 tsp. oatmeal cooked in milk and 1 ampoule of vitamin C. The effect is increased skin elasticity and rejuvenation. Leave for up to 20 minutes.
  • With parsley and vitamin C. For this mask you will need 2 tbsp. l. parsley, 1 ampoule of vitamin C and 1 tbsp. l. fat sour cream. Mix everything, apply to face and rinse after 20 minutes with cool water.

The use of vitamin complexes requires a proper approach, and if you do not know the effect of their components on the body, it is better not to self-medicate. The problem may lie not only in a lack of vitamins, but also in possible chronic diseases.

Perhaps acne appeared due to improper functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, and not because the skin is oily. That is why the selection of vitamin complexes should be entrusted to a doctor.

After consultation with a competent specialist, a treatment regimen is determined, including the correct use of vitamins, based on the patient’s complaints, symptoms, weight and age, as well as lifestyle, body characteristics and other factors.

C: for rapid rejuvenation

The benefits of vitamin C for the skin can hardly be overestimated, because it is necessary for the epidermis and dermis. This antioxidant plays a role in the production of collagen, which ensures skin elasticity. Thanks to these properties, it is widely used in the production of anti-aging cosmetics.

Vitamin C in ampoules will increase the effectiveness of products with SPF filters. If taken orally, it minimizes cell damage and accelerates regeneration processes. It also has the following effect:

  • helps heal wounds, relieves inflammation;
  • slows down the aging process;
  • lightens freckles;
  • prevents dry skin.

You can also include foods rich in this substance in your diet:

  1. Vitamins for beauty can be obtained from fruits and citrus fruits. Consume kiwis, oranges, limes and grapefruits to meet your body's needs.
  2. Broccoli, strawberries, cucumbers, tomatoes, and cantaloupe will also be beneficial.

In the cosmetics industry, the component is used in serums and moisturizing products. They are used externally in the morning to protect the face from exposure to ultraviolet radiation. The effectiveness of the products has been confirmed by dermatologist Hema Sundaram, who works in Washington.

According to studies, women who used creams with a beneficial component for six months noticed an improvement in complexion and a reduction in wrinkles.

But homemade masks will also be useful if you know what vitamins you need to use for your facial skin. After all, the substance will help defeat acne, and you will need it;

  • 1 tsp. honey;
  • ½ tsp. brown sugar;
  • ½ tsp. vitamin in powder form;
  • 2 drops of lavender essential oil.

Mix the ingredients, apply to the skin and lightly massage your face. The exposure time will be 30-45 minutes. Repeat the procedure weekly and the number of rashes will decrease.
