Which warts can be treated with a plaster?
To get rid of warts, many try to use all kinds of home and folk remedies, but they are not always effective. Moreover, improper removal of growths can lead to skin trauma.
Specialized products, such as wart patches, are much easier to use and often help achieve the expected result. At the same time, the adhesive plaster is less aggressive in its effect on tissue than, for example, celandine.
You can buy such drugs at any pharmacy without a prescription, but this is not a reason to self-medicate. Before you buy a product for home use, it is better to visit a dermatologist and make sure that the skin problem you want to get rid of is really a benign formation.
Before starting treatment
Warts on the legs can cause discomfort and even pain when walking, so people with this problem are looking for a way to get rid of the problem. Manufacturers recommend using the wart patch to remove growths specifically on the feet and hands.
The skin on the legs is often rough and tough; medications penetrate with difficulty; therefore, for the best effect from using an adhesive plaster, it must be steamed in a bath with soda and soap added and treated with pumice.
Salipod for corns, calluses and spines
The most popular skin tag remover is the salicylic acid wart patch.
This remedy is effective in getting rid of calluses and corns, but for spines and warts, the salipod patch should be used in combination with other medications.
Like any other remedy, Salipod has contraindications. The instructions for use will tell you which ones.
How to use the patch
Salipod is fixed with an adhesive layer, so it is very convenient to use for warts on the hands and feet. The feet are most often affected on the lower extremities: plantar warts appear on them. A plantar wart can cause serious inconvenience in everyday life: wearing shoes and walking can cause discomfort and even pain to the patient.
To eliminate an unwanted growth, you need to cut off a small piece of the plaster that will cover the problem area, stick it on the affected area and secure it with an adhesive plaster. After two days of wearing, the tape is removed along with the softened tip of the wart. The procedure is repeated until the growth is completely removed.
Contraindications
Use the Salipod patch for warts with caution. You should avoid trying to get rid of warts with adhesive plaster during pregnancy and when treating children under 10 years of age. It is also prohibited to use Salipod in areas of open wounds and skin cracks, near pimples, open calluses and ulcers. You should not try to remove moles with it.
Side effect
Removing warts with Salipod can lead to contact dermatitis and allergic reactions in the area where the patch comes into contact with a healthy area. When trying to get rid of skin growths, redness of the skin, as well as a feeling of itching and burning, may occur.
How to get rid of warts?
The range of medications that help quickly and effectively eliminate skin growths is quite diverse. To cure papillomavirus, you can use ointments, tablets and even freezing sprays. However, such methods are relevant if there are many growths on the body, and to remove single growths, you can use a patch with salicylic acid for warts.
Mediplast
Mediplast is another popular wart removal patch. As with Salipod, the main component is salicylic acid.
Since the active substance is the same, the effect of the patch on skin growths will be similar.
Instructions for use
Mediplast is especially effective against calluses and corns, but it is often used against warts. Salicylic acid is very aggressive towards healthy skin, so the patch must be applied strictly to the neoplasm tissue. It is better to lubricate the skin around the papilloma with a fatty or baby cream to protect it from salicylic acid.
Features of treatment
As with other products, there are contraindications to the use of the Mediplast patch. The product is prohibited from use during lactation, at any stage of pregnancy, in case of allergies to its constituent components, and for the treatment of children.
What is Salipod
This remedy is produced in the form of a patch for the treatment of warts. The essence of its action is that it is impregnated with a special medicinal solution that destroys pathogenic cells of the neoplasm. The patch contains the following components:
- Salicylic acid. This substance has an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory effect. It is actively used in cosmetology. Salicylic acid melts pathogenic tissues, which are replaced by healthy epithelium. In addition, this solution improves blood circulation at the local level, which helps prevent the reappearance of warts.
- Precipitated sulfur. This is the second active ingredient in the patch. It has a drying effect. In combination with salicylic acid, precipitated sulfur promotes faster destruction of the stratum corneum of the skin.
Salipod also contains the following excipients:
- natural rubber;
- pine rosin;
- anhydrous lanolin.
The Salipod adhesive plaster is recommended for the treatment of plantar warts. It has a fairly aggressive effect. Therefore, it is better not to use it to eliminate warts on the hands. The skin in these places is very delicate, the use of the patch cannot cause severe discomfort that would indicate burns.
Plaster Ultra Pro H Dr. House
Salicylic patch for warts Ultra Pro H Dr. House is one of the most affordable skin tag removers.
Adhesive plaster Dr. House contains salicylic acid, which dries out warts and has a destructive effect on the affected cells.
This remedy is effective for topical use, but drug treatment is required to get rid of the papilloma virus that causes the growths.
How it works
It is most convenient to use this patch if a person is bothered by a palilloma on the foot or arm. Under the influence of salicylic acid, the structure of the wart is destroyed, the affected tissue is rejected and the growth falls off, after which healthy skin grows.
Correct Application
To effectively treat warts on the sole of the foot at home, it is important to use the chosen remedy correctly. First you need to steam your feet and remove dead skin with a pumice stone. These procedures are carried out before gluing the salicylic patch to facilitate the penetration of the active substance. The size of the treatment patch should correspond to the diameter of the wart. To prevent slipping, a regular adhesive plaster is placed on top.
Contraindications for use
When trying to remove a growth from the skin, there is a small risk of side effects, so you should definitely consult a doctor. In some cases, it is worth abandoning them altogether. Thus, the salicylic patch should not be used by children, pregnant and lactating women, or people who are allergic to the components of the drug. During treatment, you must refrain from taking medications that contain zinc and resorcinol.
Methods to get rid of trouble
Adhesive plasters have been used by mankind for a long time; this useful invention quickly stops cuts and protects the wound from infection. They help fight back pain and rheumatism; cosmetologists use them to remove acne; smokers are recommended to use a special Velcro that prevents them from bad habits.
A patch for warts is a convenient solution to the problem, because to eliminate the problem, doctors suggest constantly applying liquid and burning out the growth. The main substance is salicylic acid, it is applied to a porous rag pad; the protective layers do not allow it to evaporate. Salicylic patches for warts allow you to forget about the problem, the acid quietly does its job, destroying the danger.
Salipod patch
Pharmacists offer several types of patches against warts, the difference lies in price, manufacturer, shape, and composition.
- Salipod patch is considered a bestseller, has a relatively low price, and contains sulfur, salicylic acid, and aromatic ingredients. The first two components quickly soften the formation, isolate the lump, and prevent it from growing further.
- The wart patch from Chinese manufacturers has almost the same composition, the peculiarity is that the Velcro is constantly changed. Constantly changing a piece of gasket lasts until the problem completely disappears.
- The next savior, the German Suda Epitact , its price is quite high, however, Velcro is quite economical. Patients independently cut out the required adhesive piece from a long tape. The active agent - thuja extract - actively fights warts.
Important! The virus helps small lesions spread quickly throughout the body; warts can unite and grow. It is necessary to use patches against growths with medications that help boost immunity.
It is not recommended to use wart patches for children; parents are required to see a doctor. Only he will be able to determine the type, cause, see growth, and prescribe the correct therapy. Often, young patients are susceptible to acute growths, the cause is elementary dirt, bacilli, and lack of simple hygiene.

Growths on the legs and arms quickly unite into entire colonies and disturb the baby. It is necessary to check the surroundings of a small child, the virus is transmitted through contact - wearing shared flip-flops, slippers, and things can easily transmit HPV from the carrier to a healthy baby.
Suda Epitact pads
For those who for some reason cannot use a salicylic patch against plantar warts, there are other remedies. So, at the pharmacy you can buy Suda Epitact pads soaked in thuja extract.
The fundamental difference from other patches lies in the main active ingredient: instead of salicylic acid, the German manufacturer uses a herbal remedy - thuja extract. Even allergy sufferers and people with particularly sensitive skin can use this effective product to remove warts.
Mode of application
To get rid of skin growths, the Epitact Suda patch is applied so that the pad is adjacent to the site of the infection. This patch is much more expensive than salicylic analogues, but unlike them, the drug is non-toxic, does not irritate the skin, can rarely provoke allergies and has virtually no contraindications.
Precautionary measures
Pads with thuja extract are safe, so they can even be used to remove growths from a child’s skin. However, we must not forget that herbal remedies can also cause allergic reactions, so they should be used with caution and only after a test on the skin, for example, on the crook of the elbow.
Plaster for warts and other papillomas
Works. There are before, during and after photos. As well as instructions for use. It is no secret that 50% of the world's population has various papilloma viruses in their bodies, but whether they manifest themselves or not depends on the individual organism. Medicine is powerless here; the best you can do is contain the virus or act more radically when it manifests itself. One person can live his whole life without knowing about the presence of the virus, while in another the virus manifests itself when the immune system is weakened.
The backstory is simple. Suddenly something appeared on the finger, and from tearing and picking it simply grew larger. It was decided to try the solution offered by the Chinese on the main page of Alik in last minute goods.
I took 25 pieces at once for $7.77, guessing how it works. Yes and for everyone. Yes - the more pieces, the lower the price. And the Chinese seemed to put in even more. 27 I think.
For starters, packaging. An ordinary Chinese box with hieroglyphs. Everything is as in the picture.
Inside is a plaster, instructions in pure Chinese and some kind of scalpel. Based on the fact that it is inconvenient to use with your hands, we can conclude that it is inserted into some kind of standard holder.
The patch consists of adhesive tape, a neoprene ring and a pink active substance in the form of a molded powder.
Shall we get started?

1. First of all, it is recommended to wash the skin and, as it were, grind off part of the insensitive surface epithelium with an abrasive (nail files, heels, sandpaper, etc.) for greater efficiency. You don't have to do this. But be prepared to use up extra bandage. I spent it))
2. The patch is applied intuitively using pink powder to the wart. This is according to the instructions. But in fact, after this you need to take a regular “reel” plaster and fix the whole thing tightly, because The stock tape peels off once or twice. Without fanaticism, really. It should be fixed, not clamped. The maximum will be mild discomfort, which will go away in a couple of hours. If your finger (or something there) goes numb, the patch is too tight, you need to re-glue it looser.
Looks something like this, photo by evening
3. How long to keep? If the skin is delicate, women's, children's, etc. - then a day. The male version is 48 hours, and no less. It is important to understand that this powder must be moistened by evaporation of the skin, and then penetrate about 2 mm inside. And if the skin is rough, or the glue is weak, there will simply be no reaction. In other words, under the patch there should be a kind of “compost”, “steam room”. Do not wet it, as the powder can be washed off with running water. On the other hand, the bobbin patch is quite thick and prevents water from getting inside.
There may be a slight tingling sensation while the patch is in effect. That's how it should be. If it is not there, there is most likely no reaction either.
4. Remove.
Test object, after 48 hours
What do we see? The powder worked. The skin is completely under anesthesia. The boundaries of the papilloma have become clear, it is obviously smaller than it seemed. The area under anesthesia is slightly swollen. This is fine.
What will happen next? The white skin under anesthesia will return to normal after 24 hours. Blood circulation and nerve conduction will return, so guys, IMPORTANT, there is no need to cut or rip off anything there. The pink pigment will dissolve, wash off or rub off.
What to do after 24 hours?
If the wart was small, say, the size of a match head, most likely that’s all. We are just waiting for recovery, periodically exfoliating the surface.
But if it’s like in the review, we do the following. Using scissors or tweezers, we remove the dead skin above the papilloma, reaching the “normal” level, if you can call it that. If we see that there, underneath, there is something similar to vertical columns - burst capillaries, etc. - then we repeat everything again: glue it for 48 hours, wait 24 hours, check it. And so on in a circle.
In general, I used 4 patches: the first one - since I didn’t overload the skin, the powder didn’t penetrate deep enough; the second is a seemingly normal application; the third - since there were clearly traces of “living” papillomas; and the fourth - to consolidate the result. I can say that you need to observe the result even after the “last” peel off of the patch. If in place of the papilloma there is something that looks like columns (as opposed to the horizontal placement of layers of epithelium), then you need to glue it again for 48 hours.
Result. It passed, of course, earlier, but only now there are absolutely no traces left on the skin.
Study object, finish 01/22/2017
Conclusions. The patch works if you apply it thoroughly. The “set it and forget it” magic doesn’t work here. But the skin is restored completely, no traces, scars or cicatrices remain.
All OK.
Advantages and disadvantages of the method
Wart patches, like any other medicine, have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantages include the following features:
- possibility of using against neoplasms at home;
- no pain during use of the product;
- there is no need to wait for absorption;
- the risk of side effects is minimal.
Weaknesses include limited application options, risk of allergies, and potential for injury to surrounding healthy areas.
Also, the disadvantages of this method include the duration of treatment: it will not be possible to get rid of the unwanted growth in one go, the procedure will have to be repeated several times.
Before using any drug for skin growths on any part of the body, be sure to consult with your doctor to determine whether the growth is actually a wart.
Contraindications
The wart patch is not recommended for use only in isolated cases.
In children, it is better to remove growths using this method only after consultation with a specialist who treats warts. Infancy is a strict contraindication for the use of the product.
Contraindications also include the following factors:
- hypersensitive skin;
- damage to the skin near the wart (any scratches, microcracks, etc.);
- the presence of individual intolerance to individual components;
- pregnancy and lactation period.
IMPORTANT : You cannot put an adhesive plaster on a wart if there are moles next to it. Otherwise, a negative skin reaction may occur.
If Salipod is contraindicated for you, use folk remedies such as:
- celandine;
- garlic;
- potato;
- vinegar;
- thread.
