Why do warts appear?
Warts are caused by infection with a virus that causes warts.
Only skin cells (palms, soles, less often the face, body) become infected and warts appear in these places in groups or individually. The virus is transmitted through household contact with sick people or through common objects (swimming pools, bathhouses, locker rooms). Infection is also facilitated by a weakened immune system, the presence of wounds, scratches, and cracks. |
How to treat periungual warts? Features of drug therapy
It is immediately worth noting that drug therapy is rarely required. In most cases, it is enough to remove the wart, and sometimes the tumors completely disappear on their own.
Drug treatment of periungual warts is prescribed only if there is a marked decrease in the activity of the immune system. It is advisable to take Acyclovir and other antiviral drugs.
Naturally, treatment must be comprehensive. Antiviral drugs are taken not only internally - the affected areas of the skin are treated with special ointments and gels, which also negatively affect the activity of viruses. Products such as Panavir and Viferon are considered effective.
Do warts need to be removed?
Warts are removed not only for aesthetic purposes, but also to a greater extent as a treatment measure: removing warts prevents their reproduction (in the case of warts on the face and body).
Removing plantar warts, in addition, prevents an increase in size and the acquisition of an ugly, “blooming” appearance, and a high likelihood of pain when walking. Periungual warts can deform the nail plate and lead to its detachment.

Warts should be removed as soon as they appear - this will make the laser removal procedure less painful, faster, cheaper and the healing process will be easier.
How to get rid of warts in 15 minutes?
At the Gradient clinic, qualified dermato-oncologist surgeons will carefully examine the formations, determine their type and how to solve your situation. Warts can be removed on the same day of treatment - the procedure is comfortable and painless, using local anesthesia.
After removal, the doctor will recommend care for speedy healing. If necessary, antiviral treatment will also be prescribed. If there is any doubt about the benign quality of the formation, the removed sample will be sent for histology. You can be sure that the procedure is safe!
The most modern and effective solution to the problem of warts is laser removal using a CO2 laser.
Benefits of laser wart removal:
- The device does not come into contact with the patient’s skin; it acts with a beam. Complete asepsis is achieved, the wound does not bleed;
- Removal of warts is achieved with a single radical procedure;
- Precise selection of laser beam parameters allows precise action at the wart-healthy skin interface;
- Healthy skin tissue around the wart is not damaged (there are no unreasonably large marks after removal);
- Rapid tissue regeneration after the removal procedure, the wound heals quickly.
- Painless. Preliminary anesthesia allows you to completely avoid pain;
Treatment options
Putting a fabric adhesive bandage on finger. Very short depth of field.
In order to completely get rid of a wart, it is necessary to remove it, it is better to do this in a clinical setting. In addition to surgical techniques, it is possible to use drug therapy and traditional methods of treatment.
Surgical
Removal of tumors can be done using several methods, each of which is selected strictly individually:
- cryodestruction is a technique based on the use of liquid nitrogen. Freezing kills the virus and destroys the altered skin tissue. The method is not recommended for children under 4 years of age, women during pregnancy and people suffering from diabetes. The risk of relapse may be about 15%;
- laser destruction – destruction of a tumor using a laser beam. Under the influence of the laser, layer-by-layer evaporation of the affected skin tissue occurs. The intervention is performed under local anesthesia. At the site of the removed wart, a small depression is formed, which levels out over 7-10 days. The technique practically does not cause relapses;
- electrocoagulation method - using a thin wire loop, the tumor is removed with high-frequency alternating current. If the neoplasm is large, using this technique inappropriately over long periods of time can cause deep and extensive burns on the skin. A neoplasm removed in this way practically does not recur;
- surgical removal - used for large tumor sizes, as well as its location deep under the nail. With surgical removal, the probability of relapse reaches 50%.
How much does wart removal cost?
The cost of laser removal of warts depends on their number, size and location (on the face, eyelids, hands, plantar and periungual warts). Based on these parameters, the surgeon will determine the exact cost before performing the procedure. Prices are also shown in the price list at the bottom of the page.

I would like to thank Artem Sergeevich Kuzmin from the bottom of my heart. There were old plantar warts that caused discomfort when walking. The doctor removed everything quickly, carefully, the wounds did not bleed. It feels like the arm is full, the operation was professional, there was no pain. Four weeks later there is not a single mark on the foot - not a scar. |

Many thanks to doctor Terekhin Artyom Mikhailovich!!! I didn’t think that there were still such responsive, caring doctors, the operation took only a few seconds, but despite this, the doctor kept in touch with me for several more days, was interested in my son’s well-being, calmed my fears and answered my stupid questions)) Thank you very much, that despite such a flow of people, you are worried about your patients (even if it is a child with a simple wart on his finger), you find time to check, give advice and calm fears). Thank you again for your professionalism and humanity! |
