Egg for strengthening hair: recipes for nourishing masks

What is mainly behind the normal shape, growth, and elasticity of hair? Protein. That is protein. Its lack in the rods causes fragility, thinning of the strands, and a bunch of other problems; in the bulbs - cessation of vital activity. This means that this protein needs to be restored. Where to get it from? From an egg hair mask. Why from her? Yes, because each egg contains approximately 7-7.5 tens of kilocalories of pure protein, if converted to grams, then 6-6.5 g of protein.

And also in it:

  • almost all B vitamins, which are responsible for both pigmentation and the strength of curls (by the way, if B6, for example, is not enough for the body, it will first of all give up hair - sacrifice it for the benefit of overall health);
  • D, responsible for the internal strength of the rods and their external beauty and protection from ultraviolet radiation;
  • A, regenerating hair and preventing it from prematurely retiring due to old age;
  • choline, which stops baldness (in 100 g of egg mass there is as much as 251 mg!);

In a word, eggs are the most valuable resource for hair growth, its integrity and attractiveness! Is it possible to create a high-quality and effective egg hair mask at home? Without a doubt. Moreover, it must be done at least once a week. By the way, reviews from those who have already felt the mask on their hair (and apply it only to dry braids) are full of either words of admiration or deep satisfaction with its effect.

Select and apply

Eggs, of course, are different, but mainly only two types are used for the mask: chicken and quail. They are the easiest to get. In addition, for example, ostrich or gourmet pigeon, like turtle, can only be eaten. Turkey or guinea fowl are close to chicken, but there are periods when they are allergic - from mid-autumn to late spring. However, if someone has the opportunity to get a duck or a laying goose, you can take advantage of their capabilities. Waterfowl eggs are rich in fat. Therefore, they are mainly used in mask recipes for very weak and completely dull dry curls, which need to be strengthened and softened at the same time.

Banana recipe

Bananas contain many nutrients. They contain vitamins A, B, C and E, zinc and iron.

Banana masks are good for weak and dry hair, and moreover, they help fight hair loss.

You will need:

  • 2 ripe (or overripe) bananas
  • 1 egg.

Beat the ingredients with a blender until there are no lumps left in the mixture (otherwise it will be very difficult to wash them out of your hair). The weaker your hair, the longer you need to keep the mask on, but no less than 15 and no more than 40 minutes.

Mask “Duck Softness”

Before you make a duck egg hair mask, check whether it is too late - a duck likes to sit on its “fruits”, and not jump up from them screaming, like a chicken. It’s easy to check by pointing it at the light of a light bulb. If there are no dark spots in the middle, it’s good. And as soon as you see a darkening, there is already an embryo there, that is, it’s not suitable for a mask at all.

Compound

  • yolks – 2 pcs.;
  • olive oil (only first and preferably cold pressed) 2 tbsp. spoons.

Preparation

  1. Pierce the yolk shell and pour it into the bowl, holding it. Beat.
  2. Heat the oil (you can directly in a spoon, holding it high above the fire, or steaming is a better option).
  3. Connecting both bases, fluff them with a whisk.

Application

  • grease the combed strands with oily yolk, passing them between the fingers;
  • last of all, lubricate the skin, massaging it with light pressing strokes;
  • wrap the braids in film (it is advisable that there is a little room under it - leave an air cushion), on top - a light diaper or scarf;
  • rinse with lukewarm water after a quarter of an hour - generously;
  • repeat weekly (if the hair condition is very bad - after 5 days).

If you don’t have duck eggs, you can use chicken eggs, but there should be 3 of them, and you should also add 4 drops of neroli (essential) or lemon oil to the olive oil.

Egg shampoo

In contrast to multi-ingredient store-bought products, egg shampoo may contain only one yolk. It lathers well and cleanses hair well, and is easily washed off with warm water.

Let us note several important features in using eggs as a hair cleanser:

  • The shampoo should always be fresh; you should not store it for a long time - no more than a day in the refrigerator.
  • You will have to “soap” your hair several times.
  • There may be an “addiction stage” when the hair becomes greasy and dirty faster than usual. This is a temporary phenomenon, let your hair get used to it, and frequent washing will not dry out your skin.
  • Remove the film from the yolk; it is what causes the unpleasant odor.
  • To enhance the properties of shampoo, you can add components from masks, essential oils and herbal infusions to it.

Despite all the benefits of egg masks, you need to understand that external care does not guarantee complete hair restoration. Since the quality of curls is affected by the general condition of our body, we need complex therapy, including proper nutrition, rich in vitamins and microelements, healthy sleep, a strong nervous system and, of course, properly selected hair care.

Fermented milk mask

Duck eggs can also be used to combat hair loss, but here you need a more saturated strengthening complex.

Compound

  • yogurt (or ayran, it is closest in properties), naturally only without additives, and even more so without dyes - 100 g;
  • yolks – 2 pcs.;
  • honey (preferably from sunflower or mountain heather) – a tablespoon;
  • lemon juice with thin smooth peel (in this case it is better than thick skin) - a tablespoon.

Preparation

  1. Foam the yolks freed from film.
  2. Mix honey and lemon and heat slightly (steam only!).
  3. After combining the ingredients, beat until foam appears.

Application

  • rubbing the mixture into the roots, massage them for a minute or two;
  • cover your head with a cosmetic/shower cap and scarf;
  • After leaving for 25 minutes, rinse (preferably with cool water);
  • repeat once every 6 days.

It would also be good to rinse your hair with a strength-stimulating infusion of hop cones and chamomile - a tablespoon of herbs per liter of boiling water (steam for an hour).

Recommendations

To make the most effective egg mask at home, follow a number of recommendations.

About choosing eggs

To prepare masks, it is better to use chicken eggs. Quails are too small, you need a lot of them, they are difficult to break up, and the recipes are not designed for them. They contain more amino acids, but chicken ones are richer in fatty acids, which are necessary for caring for dry hair. As for the rest (duck, turkey, etc.), their range of useful substances is not so diverse, so it is better not to consider them as a suitable option.

Any eggs are considered most useful within 7 days after they are laid by a chicken. After this, most of the bioactive substances begin to evaporate through small pores on the shell. Therefore, in stores you should look for a product labeled “D” (dietary), and not “C” (canteen): their shelf life should not exceed a week.

It’s even better to use farm and homemade eggs for making masks, the quality of which is beyond doubt.

Experts advise giving preference to small-sized eggs: according to research, they contain the maximum concentration of nutrients. But their color does not affect this.

And other tips

Do not exceed the dosage indicated in the recipes.

Use the prepared mixture immediately, do not store it for reuse. Throw away whatever is left.

If the composition contains aggressive components (alcohol, mustard, pepper), try not to get the mixture into your eyes or nose, otherwise the mucous membranes will be irritated. In this case, they are washed with plenty of cold water.

Procedures can be performed a couple of times a week. The full course is 10-12 masks: everything will depend on how quickly the problem is resolved (hair loss stops, cuts heal, dandruff disappears, etc.). Then you need to give your hair a rest (change the composition of the hair care product).

When choosing a recipe, be guided by the properties of a particular egg mask. Its purpose may vary slightly, but still change due to the inclusion of other ingredients in the composition.

Drunk mask

A good way to quickly grow and thicken oily strands is a cognac mask with egg. You need to be patient for it to work in full force - it is applied to the hair for three months in a row every 3-4 days. And if you follow this course, your braids will be much more attractive than those of models advertising shampoo on TV.

Compound

  • quail eggs – 5 pcs.;
  • avocado or shea butter (you can also use olive oil if it is cold-pressed or pumpkin) – 1.5 tbsp. spoons;
  • honey (flower or meadow) – 1.5-2 tbsp. spoons;
  • cognac – 1.5-3 tbsp. spoons.

Preparation

  1. Mix butter and honey and heat.
  2. Froth the eggs (without separating the yolk) and mix with the honey-oil base.
  3. Lastly, pour in the cognac and beat the mixture.

Application

  • Having coated the dry roots of the sebaceous strands, we massage them, pressing the mass;
  • Divide the curls into strands and lubricate them thickly;
  • we collect the braids in a pile, crush it and hide it under a cellophane/silicone cap (cosmetic, shower), tie a towel on top;
  • After 50 minutes, rinse off (the water should be as cool as possible so that the egg does not remain on the hair in the form of slimy lumps).

If the quail version of the mask hurts your wallet, replace it with chicken eggs. 2 medium eggs will be enough. But regardless of the composition of the mask, it would be good to supplement its effect with a decoction of crushed oak bark - 100 g/2 liters of boiling water. Boil for 15-20 minutes, wrap and leave, wrapped in a towel, until it cools down. And then strain.

Egg with milk

Everyone knows that milk is rich in calcium, lactic acid and zinc.

All three elements are beneficial for hair, as they make it stronger, and moreover, accelerate its growth.

Also, thanks to the beneficial substances contained in eggs and honey, this mask is indispensable for dull and weak hair.

Prepare:

  • yolk,
  • a quarter glass of milk,
  • 1-2 teaspoons of honey.

All ingredients are mixed in a bowl until pureed. The finished mask is carefully applied to pre-moistened hair. Then you need to rinse it off with water and rinse your hair thoroughly with shampoo.

Intended use

An egg mask is an excellent prevention for many problems related to hair health. But there are several “alarm bells” signaling that it’s time to pay attention and start using restorative masks.

If you see such obstacles, for example:

  • dry skin and hair;
  • excessive oiliness of the hairstyle;
  • dandruff;
  • split ends;
  • slow growth –

It's worth taking action!

So, if at least one of the points presented worries you, there is no need to delay recovery. After all, nothing will disturb the harmony of the look like dull, unkempt and unkempt hair.

Pay attention! For the greatest effect, you need to use homemade eggs, they contain the largest amount of necessary substances compared to poultry products.

What is unique?

Surprisingly, this small-sized product contains an impressive range of nutrients and vitamins that help curls become soft, restored, saturated with moisture and achieve silkiness.

All the main usefulness is located specifically in the yolk.

The usefulness of the egg is unique only due to its own rich composition. But the main benefit to our strands comes specifically from the yolk.

It contains lecithin and amino acids in abundance, which are virtually universal in their healing properties.

They help curls gain a healthy glow, give them smoothness, remove fragility, and nourish them.

  • The yolk contains almost all B vitamins, which promote effective hair growth and prevent early gray hair.
  • Vitamins A and E, also included in the composition, protect curls from drying out and resist excess fragility.
  • Vitamin D and elements such as magnesium, phosphorus and potassium help improve hair health.

From everything described above, we can draw a fully justified conclusion that the yolk is truly a magical panacea. Egg white for hair is usually used to treat oily hair types. It restores the functioning of the sebaceous glands, as a result of which the strands become light, fresh and remain unstained longer.

Yolks can completely replace real shampooing.
