What is papilloma?
Papilloma is a small growth that rises above the level of the skin. Papillomas appear only if a person is a carrier of HPV. The human papillomavirus is transmitted in various ways, and more than 80% of the world's population are carriers.
Such an infection has terrible consequences. If you do not make any attempts to get rid of the growths, then in 10-15 years the innocent papilloma will develop into a malignant tumor. For a long time, HPV does not reveal its presence in the body, but any failure of the immune system will give rise to the formation of the first warts.
Papillomas can appear singly or several at once in one place. Even if we take into account that most of the growths are not of an oncological nature, doctors believe that it is necessary to remove all tumors.
Types of papillomas
- Vulgar . Round, the surface of such a wart is rough to the touch, about 1 mm in diameter. They do not cause any discomfort. They remain the same size for several years, then begin to grow sharply. They are placed on the hands; for children, they are placed on the laps.
- Flat . They are smooth to the touch, do not have regular shapes, and can be barely noticeable, rising just a millimeter above the skin. Localized on the hands, sometimes on the face. Cause itching, redness or inflammation.
- Plantar . They have the shape of a circle and are painful. The surface is rough, the color is slightly lighter or darker than the skin. They form on the legs or palms and cause pain. During childhood, the disease will probably go away on its own, but after the child turns 10 years old, it is advisable to immediately begin treatment.
- Filiform . It most often appears in adults aged 40-55 years. At first they look like a bump, but over time they rise above the epidermis by 3-6 mm. Affects the genital area, armpits or face.
- Genital warts are considered the most dangerous type. They are located in intimate places and inside them. In appearance they resemble papillae; if condylomas are ignored, they develop into a malignant form.
To better understand your tumors, you should seek help from a doctor. Before treatment, it is necessary to identify the type of HPV and find out the nature of the tumor.
The mechanism of appearance of papillomavirus
The human papillomavirus causes a contagious infectious disease. The pathogen is transmitted from a carrier to a healthy person in three ways - from mother to child during childbirth, through household contact, and through sexual contact. The last option is the most common. Once in the human body, the pathogen is attacked by the immune system, after which it goes into a latent state.
To activate the virus, a strong immune decline must occur (hypothermia, taking antibiotics, stress, etc.). As soon as a favorable environment for the proliferation of infection is established in the body, viral formations appear on the human body - warts, papillomas, condylomas. The location of the growths depends on the method of infection. For newborn children who passed through the birth canal with pronounced formations, laryngeal papillomatosis is characteristic. People infected during sexual contact experience condylomas in the genital and anal areas. Using other people's things leads to the appearance of warts on the hands and feet.
The virus can adapt well. It is quite difficult to completely remove the pathogen from the body with the help of medications, and sometimes it is impossible without surgical intervention.
Why do papillomas appear on the body?
There are several main reasons for the manifestation of human papillomavirus in the form of warts:
- Lack of the required amount of vitamins and minerals in the body;
- Hormonal imbalances;
- Problems in the functioning of internal organs, especially the gastrointestinal tract;
- Frequent overwork;
- Large consumption of fatty, sweet or too salty foods;
- Stress;
- Short sleep;
- Bad habits.
All factors influence the functioning of the immune system. A person may not feel unwell, but the human papillomavirus acts at the cellular level and can accurately detect a decrease in the body’s natural defenses.
What is HPV
HPV or papillomavirus infection is a virus that enters the body upon contact with a carrier and may not manifest itself for a long time. Activation of the papillomavirus occurs against the background of any disruptions in the body’s functioning, most often with a decrease in immunity.
The virus may not manifest itself in any way for many years after infection. However, with stress, vitamin deficiency, severe illness or decreased immunity, it makes itself felt in the form of the formation of skin growths.
There are about a hundred different strains of human papillomavirus infection. Some of them are absolutely safe. However, there are oncogenic strains of HPV (human papillomavirus) that provoke the development of cervical cancer in women.
To protect yourself from possible negative consequences, you need to visit a doctor and get tested to determine the type of virus. It should be remembered that a dangerous strain of HPV detected in a timely manner can be successfully treated. Timely diagnosis allows you to avoid the development of cancer conditions.
How to distinguish a papilloma on the human body from a simple mole?
The mole has a brownish tint, does not cause pain, is not felt when touched and never rises above the skin. The papilloma can rise 1-6 mm, looks like a mushroom with a stem, a cap and is noticeable when touched.
Often the surface of papillomas can be rough. Sometimes the growths can grow and acquire a pile structure. This is due to its high infectiousness.
Therapy for men
Most often, men are asymptomatic carriers of human papillomavirus, but some may develop single or multiple anogenital warty lesions on the genitals, between the anus and genitals, and at the entrance to the rectum. Most often, such formations from the HPV virus do not cause discomfort in a man, but sometimes they can itch, cause a burning sensation or minor pain. In addition, foci of papillomavirus in men can occur inside the urethra.
Pharmacy products
Timely initiation of therapy for papillomavirus infection can relieve severe complications. Anogenital warts in the stronger sex, as well as in women, can be removed using a variety of pharmaceuticals.
Solcoderm
The drug belongs to a group of drugs that have a cauterizing and mummifying effect. Release form Solcoderm is a solution for external use, which has a shock composition: nitric, acetic, oxalic and lactic acids, as well as copper nitrate.
It is not recommended to carry out the procedure using this drug at home. It is more correct to apply Solcoderm under the supervision of medical personnel. Before the procedure, the area of the skin with the formation is treated with ethyl alcohol, and then Solcoderm is applied directly to the condyloma using a special applicator. In the following days, it is recommended to treat the pathological area with alcohol 2-3 times a day, this will speed up the process of scab formation. If mummification does not occur within the allotted time, then the procedure is repeated after 3-4 days.
The patient should not try to tear off the crust that has formed - the scab must fall off on its own, otherwise the reparative processes may be disrupted and scars may form.
Kondilin
The dosage form is a solution for external use based on podophyllotoxin. Condilin is a product with a cauterizing and mummifying effect. The active substance underlying it is extracted from the roots of the podophyll plant.
The drug has an effect aimed at inhibiting or inhibiting the processes of pathological cell division and growth of connective tissues, and also reduces the severity of inflammatory reactions. When applied topically, necrosis of genital warts occurs.
Condylin should be applied locally, only to condylomas, since if the product gets on healthy areas of the skin or mucous membranes, ulcers and irritations may appear. In view of this, an application with Condilin is made after applying baby cream or Vaseline to intact areas of adjacent skin. The procedure is repeated in the morning and evening for 3 days in a row. Treatment should be continued until the condyloma disappears, but not more than 5 weeks.
Dermavit
This medicinal gel is a safe means for removing papillomas and warts. It has a complex composition and allows you to eliminate skin defects almost without leaving a trace. But since it contains quite aggressive components for healthy skin, it should be protected before applying the gel. This can be done with a band-aid or Vaseline.
After this, you need to open the bottle of gel, squeeze a drop of the product onto the very tip of the papilloma or wart and distribute it evenly over the surface without rubbing. You can wash off the remaining gel only after the growth has darkened. The procedure should be repeated every day for 1-1.5 weeks. It all depends on the size of the papilloma. If the skin is particularly sensitive, then manipulation is recommended every other day.
lapis pencil
The drug is a topical agent containing silver (silver nitrate and potassium nitrate). The antiseptic properties of these substances have long been used in medical practice. In addition, Lapis pencil has a pronounced bactericidal, disinfectant and cauterizing effect.
Before applying to the skin, the pencil must be moistened in water. The product should be applied to the formation very carefully so as not to damage healthy skin. It should also be taken into account that the product can cause burns after use and scarring. Lapis pencil is not used to treat moles. For any skin growth, you should always consult a dermatologist.
Why are papillomas on the body dangerous?
If a person has discovered a papilloma on his body, then this is not yet a reason to panic. Timely treatment will bear fruit. If the situation is neglected, then complications will not be long in coming. HPV is activated in the body and penetrates into the deepest layers, making it impossible to remove an existing virus from the body.
During the first 5 years, the virus is not easily recognized, and later oncological consequences appear, which definitely indicate the presence of HPV. The disease is divided into hundreds of strains, each of which has its own degree of oncogenicity, so it is important to diagnose papillomas before treatment.
If treatment is not treated in a timely manner, sad consequences may occur: cancer of the cervix, larynx, penis and other unpleasant and incurable diseases. To avoid such diseases, it is necessary to visit a dermatologist on time.

How to get rid of papillomas?
To get rid of tumors, it is necessary to make enormous efforts, because in addition to removing the external signs of the disease, it is also necessary to treat the internal system of the body. This is the only way to protect yourself from repeated rashes.
How to quickly get rid of papillomas?
It is possible if you use complex therapy. Typically, this method involves removal of papillomas in the clinic, followed by the use of immunomodulators and healing ointments.
In the best case, after a week there will be an invisible trace of the growth. If the size of the formation exceeds 1 cm, then it will take at least a month to eliminate the skin defect.
Removal of papillomas in a medical facility
There are several ways to remove papillomas in a clinic or paid medical center:
- Cryodestruction - a device with liquid nitrogen actively removes all growths, forming a bubble in the affected area. Within 3-7 days, such a bubble will resolve, and a barely noticeable trace will remain from the wart. Over time, it may not even leave a scar.
- Laser excision - a laser is used that operates on the principle of a light beam. This device burns out the growth. A crust forms, which should fall off on its own within a week.
- Electrocoagulation is a common method. A high-frequency current is used to cauterize the wart. Scars remain very rarely.
- The radio wave method is the most expensive principle for treating papillomas. Radio waves affect the wart, burning out unhealthy cells. There is virtually no risk of subsequent scars after such a procedure.
- Surgical excision is the oldest method. First, local anesthesia is applied, then the wart is cut off. Scars almost always remain.
You should not choose the removal method yourself - a referral can only be issued by the attending physician, who is aware of all the contraindications to the above procedures.
Removal of papillomas using pharmaceutical preparations
The drug method is also considered very effective for removing papillomas. Let's look at the most popular means:
- Allomedine . Suppresses the development of papillomatosis and prevents the virus from developing. Does not damage healthy tissue;
- Kondilin . It is applied to the affected area, due to which the papilloma gradually dies off;
- Collomak . Softens and then destroys the growth along with the root. Prevents relapses of the disease and has an analgesic effect.
- Salipod . Available in the form of a patch. Easy to use. It is enough to attach the patch to the wart once and leave it on for 5-7 days. If roots remain, the patch is reapplied.
- Solcoderm . It burns growths without sparing healthy cells, so you must carefully study the instructions for the drug.
- Super clean . Acts aggressively and is suitable even for plantar warts. In 3-5 applications it can remove even a large wart.
- Cryopharma . Available in aerosol form. It freezes the wart, therefore it is similar to the cryodestruction method. Small growths are removed after one application, large ones - in 3.
- Wartner Cryo . It also works on the principle of freezing. When removing an old wart, the skin is first steamed and then treated with the drug.
How to get rid of papillomas at home
When choosing home treatment, you must be examined by a doctor for contraindications. This will save much more time than you could spend on treatment at home.
Removing papillomas using traditional methods
- Celandine. Ordinary grass that grows in any garden is an excellent remedy against papillomas. Celandine juice is applied to the papilloma once a day. The procedure is repeated until the growth disappears.
- Olive oil is mixed with celandine stems and left for 7 days. Apply 3-4 times a day for a week. This product acts more gently and can remove rough warts from a child.
- The onion is cut into half rings, then soaked in 7% vinegar. Then take out a piece of onion and apply it to the affected area, without touching healthy tissue. Repeat the procedure once a day for 20-30 minutes. The course of treatment is 7 days.
- Garlic is cut into small cubes and applied to the growth before bed, secured with a band-aid. In the morning, remove the patch. Repeat for 10-14 days.
- Tea tree oil is applied to the sore area 5 times a day, avoiding healthy areas. The course of treatment lasts a month.
- Chicken protein helps get rid of warts. Using a cotton swab, apply chicken protein to the papilloma as many times a day as you consider necessary. The product is safe, so it can be used even on open and sensitive skin areas. Apply the method until the tumors are completely eliminated.
- Frequently eating arugula salad will help prevent the appearance of new papillomas and help get rid of existing ones.
HPV Treatment Methods
Treating human papillomavirus is difficult. To achieve the result, it is necessary to carry out a set of measures, which will include stimulation of the immune system, suppression of the pathogen and excision of growths. This tactic helps prevent the risk of relapse, which is often observed in older patients. For young people, removal is sufficient; the immune system is able to fight the infection on its own.
Antiviral drugs
Antiviral drugs are necessary to suppress the infectious process. The substances that make up such drugs block the ability of the pathogen to reproduce, thereby preventing the likelihood of new viral foci from appearing.

Viferon is the most common antiviral drug. Interferes with the synthesis of proteins by the virus, suppressing the ability to spread. Relieves itching in the affected area. Available in the form of suppositories for rectal administration and as an ointment for external treatment. The treatment regimen is selected individually, depending on the severity of symptoms. Analogue - Cycloferon.
Allokin Alpha is the most effective antiviral medicine. Strengthens the production of antibodies to the pathogen. According to statistics, 80% of patients treated with Allokin experience clear improvements in a short period of time. The medicine is administered subcutaneously. The course of treatment is 6 injections.
Panavir is an antiviral agent for systemic use. Used in complex therapy of papillomavirus. Release form: solution for intravenous administration.
Immunostimulants
Medicines, the main purpose of which is to restore the body’s immune defense, are important components of proper treatment. The immunostimulant helps the body recover and create the necessary barrier.
Immunomax is an immune system stimulant. The medication is used exclusively as prescribed by a doctor. Injected into a vein or under the skin. Treatment consists of 2 stages.
Isoprinosine is an immunostimulant that helps the maturation of T lymphocytes and the active production of antibodies to the virus, restores the necessary level of immunoglobulins. Administered by injection. The average course of therapy is 2 – 8 weeks.
Genferon is a medicine for restoring natural defenses. Available in the form of rectal and urogenital suppositories. The main component is recombined human interferon.
Hardware methods for removing papillomas
Removing papillomas using hardware methods allows you to effectively and quickly get rid of growths on the body. The main excision procedures are:
- Laser burning. It is produced by exposure to a laser beam that vaporizes the wart tissue. The advantages of the method are high accuracy and efficiency. The disadvantage is the lack of the possibility of performing histology to detect cervical cancer. The laser burns out the entire formation.
- Cryodestruction or freezing with liquid nitrogen. Under the influence of low nitrogen temperatures, papilloma tissues are destroyed and die. Healing time takes up to 2 weeks.
- Radio wave excision. Removal is carried out layer by layer using high-frequency waves. The method is painless and bloodless. It is considered the least invasive treatment method.
- Diathermoelectrocoagulation. Thanks to its coagulative properties, the risk of blood flow and the spread of infection is completely eliminated.
- Surgical removal. The procedure is performed extremely rarely due to its traumatic nature. If subsequent histological examination is necessary or for special indications, this option is the best.
The patient can choose the hardware treatment method independently, taking into account the recommendations of the attending physician.
Other treatments
Removal of formations at home can be done with chemical pharmaceutical products. When choosing a drug, you should take into account the effect of drugs on the skin. For example, therapy of the intimate area should be carried out with special gentle means. Available in the form of ointments, drops, and aerosols. Effective remedies from the pharmacy are:
- Ferozol;
- Dermavit;
- Supercleaner;
- Mountain celandine;
- Wartner Cryo;
- Verrucacid;
- Kondilin;
- Epigen intimate;
- Vartek;
- Solcoderm;
- Collomak.
Purchase medications to remove growths as prescribed by your doctor. Before use, you must carefully study the instructions.
Non-traditional HPV suppressive treatment involves the use of medicinal plants, herbs, food and other available means. In folk medicine, celandine juice is considered an effective substance for removing warts. They treat damaged areas until the papillomas completely disappear. Use garlic, soda solution, citric acid, laundry soap, ammonia, iodine, kerosene.
Homeopaths recommend treating the papilloma virus with special medications:
- Antimonium crudum - for warts on the hands and soles.
- Causticum - for growths in the armpits, hands, face, ears, neck.
- Argentum nitricum – removal of formations on the mucous membranes.
- Thuja is a universal antiviral agent.
Adherents of homeopathy should consult a specialist before purchasing medications.
Another method of auxiliary therapy is taking vitamins. The drugs have a beneficial effect on the immune system, helping to get rid of the viral disease.
How to get rid of papillomas on the face?
It is important to remember that a person should avoid scarring on the face, so aggressive methods should not be used.
- Aloe. It is a gentle remedy that can help in the fight against papillomas in sensitive areas. Cut off the leaf, finely grate and apply the mixture to cheesecloth. Apply to papillomas for 30 minutes. Repeat 1 time every day. After 2 weeks, you can see that the papillomas gradually disappear from the skin.
- Laundry soap. The growth is rubbed with this soap and dries out over time. In a month, the wart will disappear completely.
- Wheat flour is mixed with vinegar to form a dough. Roll a small ball and stick it on the papilloma, sealing it with a band-aid on top. Leave overnight. Repeat the procedure for 7-10 days.
- Ammonia. Apply to the affected area for 10-20 minutes. Complete the course only after the papilloma has completely disappeared.
Effective methods:
- Iodine
Apply iodine 2 times a day not only to the tubercle, but also to the stem of the pendulum (if present). The growths will dry out in half a month.
- Propolis
Mash the bee product and secure it to the papilloma with a band-aid. After 24 hours, remove the bandage and treat the infected area with propolis tincture. Treat with an alcohol solution of propolis for another week (once a day).
- Adhesive medical tape
Adhesive tape is freely available at any pharmacy store or kiosk. Apply a piece of tape of the required size to the affected skin and leave it for a week. After this period, moisten the tape with water and remove. The growth will go away with it. If it doesn't work the first time, try again.
- Herbal decoction
Ingredients: lemon balm, plantain, dandelion, nettle (1:1:1:1). It is suggested to drink the herbal decoction 3 times a day for a month.
- Burning with celandine juice
You need to burn off the growth with this remedy at least four times a day for a month. First, disinfect the area where the papilloma is located with antiseptic agents, then apply the juice. If it has a leg, it is better to tie it with thread. Later, when the growth disappears, lubricate the hole that appears after it with the same product for another month, twice a day.
- Cryodestruction
The method consists of using liquid nitrogen to destroy infected cells. This has a greater aesthetic effect than electrocoagulation or laser use. The procedure is carried out in a hospital under the supervision of an experienced specialist.
- The drug Verrukacid
For protection, apply zinc paste to the skin around the papilloma. And only after this, having thoroughly moistened the special device included in the kit in the essence, carefully apply it to the tumor. After the first layer, pause for it to dry completely and repeat three to four more times.
IMPORTANT: Before starting therapeutic actions, read the instructions for use and strictly follow what is written.
What actions against papilloma cannot be carried out categorically:
- To tear off, rip off or cut off;
- Tie with thread or hair;
If you accidentally damage a papilloma, you must do the following:
- — Disinfect (use an antiseptic).
- — Close the wound (using a non-woven bandage).
- — Make a visit to the doctor.
Do not expect that the papilloma will disappear on its own, it is unlikely. Cases where formations go away on their own are very rare. As a rule, formations that appeared as a result of long-term use of medications disappear.
Preventive measures to combat papillomatosis
A good attitude towards your own health will help eliminate problems with immunity. To avoid relapses or manifestations of the disease, you must remember:
- Exercising, healthy sleep and hardening will help the immune system to always be in good shape;
- A balanced diet will help the body cope better with infections;
- A condom can reduce the risk of contracting condylomas;
- Be careful when going to public swimming pools or saunas - a humid environment perfectly breeds bacteria, including HPV. Do not use someone else's towel and wear slippers.;
- There are vaccines that prevent infection with oncogenic viruses or help alleviate the disease. You can resort to their help and 100% isolate yourself from cancer.
Unfortunately, not every person wants to adhere to these rules, so remember - the more responsible you are in treatment and subsequent prevention, the easier it will be for the body to resist foreign infections.

Getting rid of the virus at home using folk remedies
Treatment of papillomavirus with folk remedies is becoming the best solution for those people who are wary of surgical procedures and do not trust traditional medicine.
Important!
Before using traditional methods of treating papillomas, be sure to consult a dermatologist! This is necessary to clarify the diagnosis and confirm the non-oncogenicity of neoplasms.
Removing papillomas using folk remedies is strictly prohibited if they are localized on the mucous membranes:
- Throat;
- Genital organs;
- Mouth.
In such cases, there is a risk of transformation of the neoplasm into a malignant one, and the development of cancer.
Folk remedies for removing papillomas can be divided into two groups:
- For external use. They act directly on the growth, leading to necrosis of papilloma cells and its loss;
- For internal use. Help strengthen the body's defenses.
The main thing you need to make sure of before using folk recipes in the fight against papillomas is the absence of allergic reactions to medicinal plants.
How to remove growth: celandine to the rescue
Our ancestors knew about the effect of celandine for removing unwanted tumors. Even the name of this popular herb for papillomas speaks for itself. There are several known recipes for using celandine to eliminate skin defects.
- Recipe No. 1 . Cut the stem of the celandine and squeeze the juice out of it. The resulting solution is applied to the growth and covered with a bactericidal patch, previously moistened with juice. Repeat the procedure up to 3 times a day until complete healing. The resulting juice can be stored in the freezer. But the effectiveness of treatment in this case decreases;
- Recipe No. 2 . Preparation of tincture. To do this, the crushed stems and leaves of the plant are poured with boiling water and left to brew. The resulting solution is moistened with a bandage and applied to the damaged area of skin.
Getting rid of papillomas with dandelions
To prepare medicine from dandelions, collect the yellow flowers of the plant in a half-liter glass jar and fill it with inexpensive cologne. Leave the tightly closed container to brew for 14 days in a place protected from light. After two weeks, strain the tincture using gauze and pour into a dark container.
By lubricating the growth with the resulting solution several times a day, you can get rid of the skin defect in one to two weeks.
Garlic as a method of treating papillomas with folk remedies
Ayurveda suggests using garlic as a traditional medicine against papillomatosis in two variations.
- Method number 1 . Finely chop the garlic using a knife or grater, mix the resulting crumbs with hand cream. Soak a bandage or a piece of gauze in garlic ointment and apply it to the growth, securing the compress with a plaster or an additional piece of bandage. You need to wear this compress for two to three hours, then wash the damaged area of skin with soap and running water at room temperature. By using a garlic compress every day for a month, even old growths are removed.
- Method number 2 . Grind the garlic to a pulp in the same way as in the first method. Mix garlic pulp with softened butter and a few drops of lemon juice. The resulting balm is applied to the papilloma and left for two to three hours. Rinse the damaged area under warm running water. This method allows you to get rid of skin diseases in two or three procedures. The papilloma begins to dry out after the first procedure.
Symptoms and signs of HPV
Visually, formations on the body are of two types. This is either a small skin growth, as if hanging on a stalk, or a flat, wide tubercle. Most often, papillomas appear on the neck, face - in the eyelids or lips, under the armpits, and in women - under the breasts.
In some cases, infected cells begin to multiply on the mucous membranes, which is accompanied by rashes in the oral cavity, on the gastric mucosa, in the esophagus, and on the genitals.
How to deal with papillomas on the body and internal organs can be determined by undergoing an examination. This is necessary in order to identify the nature of the formation, determine what causes papillomas to appear on the body, and whether the strain belongs to the oncogenic category or not. The doctor will also tell you what these growths are and how to get rid of them forever.
Therapy for women
For HPV in women, treatment is always carried out in 3 directions:
- removal of formations caused by HPV;
- antiviral therapy;
- immunotherapy.
In addition to complex treatment with special medications, a woman may also be offered vaccination, which is designed to prevent infection or relapse of the disease.
Antiviral
How human papillomavirus is treated in women can vary greatly in each clinical case. Although there is no scientific evidence of the effectiveness of antiviral therapy in the fight against HPV, it is still included in complex treatment. The following drugs are popular among doctors:
- Viferon. This is a complex antiviral drug containing recombinant human interferon alpha-2, vitamin C and E. It has a local regulating effect on the local immune system. It is used in the form of ointment/cream or rectal suppositories, but it does not have an oral or parenteral release form.
- Altevir. Interferon alpha-2b has an antiviral, immunomodulatory effect, and also prevents the proliferation of atypical tumor cells. It is prescribed for laryngeal papillomatosis and genital warts. After laser removal of the tumor, Altevir is prescribed in an individual dosage for each patient, depending on tolerability. To achieve stable remission, you may need to take the drug for up to six months.
- Allokin-Alpha. An antiviral drug that is highly active against oncogenic strains of human papillomavirus. After administration of the drug, an increase in interferon concentration is observed after 2 hours. For oncogenic types of HPV, it is recommended to use the drug 1 ml once every two days.
Vaccination
In recent years, HPV vaccines have received increasing attention, and in some countries they are included in the list of mandatory vaccinations. HPV vaccination is especially recommended for girls during puberty (12-14 years old). It is believed that vaccination against human papillomavirus, given to a teenager before the start of an intimate relationship, is especially effective. But even at an older age, it can also play an important role and benefit the female body.
There are not many HPV vaccine options. Research continues to be carried out on them, which would allow them to be used in female and male practice, as well as in adulthood. Thus, the Gardasil vaccine is recommended for use by women over 45 years of age and young men. In addition, this vaccine can be used by both uninfected women and those infected with HPV.
Under the influence of HPV vaccines (virus-like particles), the body's defenses are stimulated. It has been scientifically proven that vaccines have immunological memory (the immune system responds more quickly and effectively to an antigen).
Despite the fact that the virus cannot be cured with the help of vaccines (they do not speed up the elimination of an already acquired virus), they successfully protect the patient’s body from re-infection. If a woman has achieved stable remission, then vaccination protects her from secondary infection from a man who is an asymptomatic carrier.
